Log in issues?

So... I decided to log into Guild Wars. When I go to log into it, it tells me "Guild Wars was unable to complete the operation. Please try again in a few minutes. (Code=042.)"

I tried logging in with my alts and I still get this error message. Any one else experiencing this? I am on the East Coast, in Georgia.

Just got this error as well, east coast new jersey. Was just playing literally 30 minutes ago, and I logged out for a bit, try to log back in, and now getting the error.

I[m getting the same error... wiki has no insight to it.

I'm also getting the same error, East Coast Virginia here. I checked the support forums and Riverside here but no notice so thought it was just me for a bit.


Edit: Just got in, looks like they plugged the servers back in.

Same, now I was able to log in.

I got this error for one of my accounts and couldn't log on, but my other account could login freely. Weird.

Seems to be resolved. I was finally able to log into Guild Wars.

I had the same issue about an hour ago. I got booted out of GW and received error code 007 and then 042 when I tried to log back in. It took about 5 minutes before I could get back in.

7am here BST and for the last hour I have been getting 058 cannot log in errors.

Anyone else?

I think this is now resolved.

The malware Spyware.MarketScore had somehow infiltrated my system.

Running Spybot and Malwarebytes and having killed a few peculiar running processes in Task Manager I have finally managed to log into the game.

Next up - let Spybot finish and perform a reboot and hopefully all will be sorted.

Ever since the dragon festival the servers are very crappy... the friendlist keeps disconnecting a few times a day, when you try to change to another character you often get the "login expired" message, pets that die disappear from server (not able to resurrect because the pet is gone), error messages (007, 040 and now also 042). Its a mess and Anet doesnt seem to care about it. And it is not regio bound because everyone seems to have the same problems (i am in an international alliance and they all complain about it)
