Wintersday in July 2012 and 3 week sale in NCSoft store

I just got an email newsletter for this, announcing some discounts in the store for the next 3 weeks, and the link to this year's Wintersday in July event.

great we can look for even MORE lag...

if they put other costumes on sale (mainly the HotN Wedding & Formal) then ide be more pleased but so far only thing ide really wanted is wk3 more storage ... even though i prob dont need it since we have a month left 'fore gw2 *shrug*

not sure why these costumes remain at ridiculous prices. you'd think they'd learn something from the iTunes store ... $0.99 ea would be a better pricepoint and earn them more money overall.

$5 merc slots vs. 44.99 full merc pack...hmmm.

Skill unlock packs... really? Is there anyone who still needs to unlock skills?

actually just look at q&a and you will see a bunch of newbies--peeps who want to 'learn the game' before gw2 comes out, so yeah, probably quite a few who are going to splurge for the skill unlock packs et.al.

Well to be honest I still have loads of non-elites to unlock especially from Nightfall.

But really... the game 'ends' in under two months and they expect me to buy these? i'd rather save my money for gem store or even better a t-shirt set.

Well, not everyone will leave GW when GW2 launches, and there will most likely be an influx of new players aswell, so saying the game is "ending" is rather silly.

Ending, no. Dying, yes.

This. Because, yeah. I also believe the game is going to die after a few months, unless you consider 5 people in an outpost at time as not dying. Aren't they stopping updating the game, and what about the Zaishen quests? They will stop too, or?

They're limiting updates to basic maintenance and holidays, I believe. Automated updates, such as the Zaishen quests, will be unaffected because they're automated; they happen automatically.

If there's a server outage in GW2, expect LA and Kamadan to be full of people!

So, they can't be bothered with GW1 except to figure out ways to part you from your cash? Impressive.

The network was unable to handle the Dragon Festival. It won't handle Wintersday.

Got everything I wanted from the first sale like this last year. Can't say I want anything else.

I wonder if the decision to have the wintersday in july means they intend on closing down GW servers this year already.

I am secretly hoping that when this deal is over they will give us an event in celebration for the release of GW2. Such as double every title or drops, etc. I realize I shouldn't expect much, but at least something for those who are still getting titles. I am far done with all my titles, but I know there are a lot of "new" players working on them.

Plus, I need something to do.

Um... new players who want to PvP? LOL
