I got hacked...and it paid off

So I got my account hacked about 1 year ago and they took about 400k and destroyed all my 15k armor. I was pretty pissed but by that time i had pretty much completely stopped playing it. but i changed my password none the less.

Well yesterday I logged on just for the hell of it and started looking and I had 2 new characters created...so i dug a little deaper and all my characters have a bunch of what appear to be valuable weapons on their inventory, and so i dug all little deeper and discovered. 40 ecto, 200 shards, and 243 Zaishen keys, along with another 80k in my storage along with a vast array of different mini pets...appearently whoever got into my account has been using it to store money/valuable goods because all my characters are still armor-less.

but anywho, just thought i'd share my good fortune on behalf of an idiot hacker.

Change your password and associated email address, enjoy your loot

So, you changed your password after being hacked the first time and got hacked a second time?

Get someone else to pick your password for you, man.

I remember a goldseller sending me 1100 gold by mistake once in vanilla WoW like 3-4 months in to the game when 1100 gold was still an insane amount of money and the best tanking swords in game went for 1100-1300. ^^ Good times

Yea i made my password a bit more complex this time around lol and how do I change my associated email address? Is it in game or on NC Soft's website?

if not.... then what would it do to the rules?

you may not hack someone else's account unless you give hi8m/her worth more than what you hacked into?

now waiting for a newbie to see his/her account being hacked, then change password and got 50/50 out of the 3-5/50 he or she had

...... except for deleting my chars and stuff, can anyone gimme some stuff worth alot, without duping/scamming/etc? (this is a joke, i rather get stuff myself, i'm slow so i have alot to do for a long time, lol)

If you plan on getting Guild Wars 2, those zkeys will get you 3 points if you haven't unlocked a pvp title. Sell some of the rest and you can get yourself obsidian. If you don't play just hope another hacker brings on another fortune to your account.

same thing happened to me but only got 60 ectos wasnt worth loosing all my rare customized gear, so lucky i was able to get it rolled back

From the sound of it I think the OP found more enjoyment in the fact that he gave the hacker a taste of his own well-deserved medicine than from the unexpected loot he came across.

Don't know if this has already been mentioned. But for someone to park all that stuff on an account he hacked into, I don't think is probable. More likely you or someone who knew your account information sold it to a noob who thought it was ok to buy an account and the noob started to use the account and you took the account back.

If it was a hacker they would most likely use it as a botting account or some other improper way.

Since when do they do that? they never let me get none of my stuff back

A few months back Anet finally got the ability to rollback single accounts so people could retrieve the items/characters they lost after getting hacked. Unfortunately those who got hacked before are still s.o.l.
