I made some changes to the first post so be sure to re-read it if you've been following this thread.
Now, to the issue of retracting a bid...
Perhaps I'm old fashioned, and things have changed now, but I take a low view of retracting bids.
You have plenty of time to decide if you want an item before you bid on it, and you have plenty of time to make a bid before the item disappears. There is no need to pull the trigger first and ask questions later.
I get it. Sometimes we make a rash decision.. or sometimes we find a better deal. Until the trade is complete, it's your money to do with as you want. If you decide to drop off the face of Tyria, I certainly can't do anything to make you pay up.
That said, retracting a bid wastes my time. It also affects potential sales.
Perhaps I should have made a rules list. I dunno. This is something I've always viewed as an unwritten rule in the spirit of auction transactions.
Anyways, the short of it is, if you retract a bid on an item beyond the grace period (an hour or two I can forgive).. you're removed from my auction completely.
***MOD EDIT--users are ALLOWED to retract bids per the Ventari Guidelines (just make sure if you do, you do so in the ORIGINAL POST you made and not a new post)---MOD EDIT***
