Salvaging Obsidian Armor?

I salvaged a pair of Chaos gloves a while ago and got 28 ecto out of them. Has anyone salvaged a set of Obsidian armor? I bought a set (Ritualist) for my brother about a year ago and he's since stopped playing. I'd like to salvage any ecto I can back from that armor. Is it worth it to try? Do you even get any ecto back from it when salvaging?

You risk getting crappy materials from every piece of Obsidian armor. The fact that you got ectos back from the gloves was/is rare-ish. It's up to you... You could potentially get 50 Vials of Ink and nothing else, for example.

I salvaged my Eles Obby armor once. I only got about 28 ectos out of it however. It sounds like you got pretty lucky on those chaos gloves. Most people I know who've salvaged those have only gotten piles of glittering dust.

salvaged chest,gloves,leggins, and feet...NOT worth it....try selling ur armor after perf salvaging the runes off. for like 30k a piece.

I've Salvaged two Sets-
One after the Dervish Update(Hated it) and got around 25e and obby shards
And monk- 20e+ 11 Shards

Depends on How lucky your feeling with it. Friend of mine just got Nothing but pure materials not even an obby shards :<

what the hell, you can't sell armor unless you mean the merchant -.-

i think lithril was implying to see if someone else would take the gamble and buy it to try and salvage for ecto.

I salvaged my obby armor purely for the fact that it was only bought for HOM, once it was put in I wanted more money to spend on other things for HOM, got like 25 ectos, 10 shards and some other stuff. was totally worth it in my case

I went ahead and salvaged the set. Turns out I got pretty lucky until I got to the boots:



I didn't remove the runes because I didn't have any perfect salvage kits (although it probably would have been worth it to craft one for the major vigor).

You just saw people salvage over a dozen obsidian armor pieces and you're looking at the runes/insignias?

I salvaged 8 sets of FoW before I quit. If you ever plan on playing the game again, it is not worth it at all in my opinion. I got something like 100 ecto and 100 shards back from 8 sets...if I thought I would ever play again I would have never done it. Gave some friends some ecto so they could have fun though

The waste happens when you craft the armor. Salvaging it is a chance at recouping a bit of the loss.
