Random Lagspikes and disconnects with no reason

Hi guys. Since 3 days i have been having these random lagspikes, didn't install any new things, that day or the day before, checked for viruses, nothing, not downloading anything on the background; and it's been constantly since then. I also installed guild wars on my laptop (with wireless internet) and the exact same thing happens, but when i play another game, everything is fine, also when i'm just browsing on the internet.

Problem 1: In example i am in RA just doing my thing, my ping is always just fine around 50-100ms, but always 1x each round in RA (that's around every 5 minutes) my game just freezes for around 10-20 seconds, everything just stops moving attacking and pings randomly goes to 8000-10000 ms etc. It first only was in thing like RA, HA, CA, FA, JQ, AB and even when observing matches and just walking around in towns like great temple of balthazar and other pvp outposts. Since today that also happens when i'm in towns like Kamadan, Kaneing center etc.

Problem 2: After getting a few wins in RA, or a few mins ago when i tried to log in on my sin game freezes i see the counter for the next game and i get a d/c and when it asks if i want to reconnect and click on 'yes' it just immediately logs out and i get a code 007 (I don't know the exact message it says, i will post it when it happens again) This is randomly, not a specific time between those d/c's

Also asked random teammates in RA if they got lag too, the was only 1 person so far. Problem is i can't play gw at all with those lags. I know everyone experiences lags and that there is nothing to do about it, but since this has been for 3 days in a row i would like to hear some opinions which may cause this problem or maybe other people experiencing the same thing.

Oh and also just tried to defrag my gw.dat (also all other things on the guide on the main forum page) the time it freezes is shorter but it's still there with lagspikes

Thanks for the response thirlla killa, happy to know im not the only one experiencing, but yeah you never know what's all going on.

EDIT: I also checked if my laptop/pc temperature would get to hot which is not the case at all. Also it's not on 1 moment i get all those lags, they are always are there, always around every 5 minutes

I haven't had any disconnects yet, but i have also experienced random lag spikes, especially during battles. The past 3 or 4 days it's been like that. Same experience as you, everything else works fine, just Guild Wars issues. I'm guessing its something to do with their servers, but im not 100% sure. Your not alone though, its happening to me as well.

Commen problem wich can have different sources that can cause it. tbh I have had it since the release of nightfall more and more often. While my connection mostly is 16ms I get lagspikes or dc while changing chars. I can't deny that it isn't a problem with Anets servers but it can also be caused by your pc/laptop getting to hot for a moment or your wireless connection has a small interuption.

Same here with the lagspikes, no fix afaik. No DC's yet.

Been having a ton of lag spikes lately in places that usually never lag like grouping with heroes. I just log off and get back on later if it lags too much.

I get lag. some times i get lag and my guildies are fine and vice versa. Happened once when i was coming to the end of a 500+ vanquish in GWEN, then i froze and then the game died. then i swore.

Just an update lagspikes+ disconnects still there, but there is something strange going on as far as i know the chat would also be delayed when you have a lagspike, but this isn't the case, i can just whisper someone else, i can see whispers just as soon as they are sent etc. The chat seems being apart from the rest of the game. I also read about this on the support forums, where is asked to send a support ticket, which i will do asap, maybe useful for others to that too, if they have the same problem as me. At least there is still nothing i can do in GW because of this. Have a nice day

ive been trying to solo UW with my Rit but it keeps lagging me in spots when i try to summon spirits and rubberband then into aggro and it wont cast the spirit and die.. please help, major lag!

Since today I have the same issue :/ Changed nothing to my computer, logged on GW and bang -> Lagspikes like hell. It's that bad that I can't even play the game normal anymore. I wanted to join RA and farm some glad points but I guess that won't work for this weekend. Whenever I join a team the loading takes pretty long, I'm lucky if I join before the match starts. Also when I'm in the match, sometimes the lag is ok and I have around 100 ping. But then suddendly it changes to 2000 and it's game over >.< When I'm in real bad luck, it even kicks me out with an err7.

No idea where it comes from, also only seems to affect GuildWars. Other internet applications work fine.

I've had similar problems for quite some time. sometimes I can play for hours with no lag issues at all, or I get stuck on the loading screen at 100% and then finally get the 007 code after a few minutes..

I'm getting strings of 007's. Standing around in Kama, talking or whatever and my character will do that turn in place thing, but cannot walk and then booted out to character screen and unable to log back in without 007 message.

Everything else works fine, it's just GW.

Just happened again, while doing fow for obsidian armor..just before the completion of needed quests.. ><

Stuck on 100% loading and it doesn't look good.

My lags and d/c's disappeared until i went afk for a few mins, saw i got a d/c, log back in again a d/c, happened only once though, sucks for you shadow

Lots of dc's today and stuck on the connecting screen at 206.127.146.62

I only get on for 10 mins or so at a time at weekends and today most of the time is spent trying to get in

The game was running fine until Sunday this weekend gone by. I was in JQ, got a massive three minute lagg spike, eventually I got booted and then I couldn't log back in for hours. Since then, it's been almost impossible for me to log on. The client will run, I get to the character selection screen, but then get stuck on the loading screen, which will either say 'Connecting' or 'Loading' but it stays at 0% until I either get an error 05 or 07 message. Occasionally, the loading bar will hit 100% but it gets stuck all the same and the game never fully loads.

Lagspikes ftw. No dc`s though.

Is anybody else in the UK having problems? Most days, I can't log on between 6pm and 11pm, and IF I do manage to log on, I get horrible 15k lagg spikes every so often, making play impossible. If I try again after midnight? It's a completely different story. Instant load, low ping - perfect.

I spent over an hour on the phone with my ISP today. There's no traffic shaping on my particular broadband package (they did however admit they apply it to certain other packages) and they've checked my line, the router and everything is fine. I can browse the web without any probs, I can play other online games such as Starcraft II -- it's just GW that won't run at certain times of day.

Seems like there's a routing problem on the way between ANet's servers in Germany and USA. Switch to American or International districts as soon as you manage to log in and stay there, observe if you still have any errors or massive lag.
For a few days, i can't login if i left my toon on an European district - i finally manage to get into the game once in about 20 tries (getting either 007/040 during logging or disconnecting as soon as i log). It seems non-existant on American districts and the lag is manageable for most non-interrupting activities.

I tried this and it appears to have solved the problem.
