How much experience do different level monsters give you?

I'm level 8 in pre- searing and I'm out of quests, but I'd like to stay in pre for a while longer.

I know for example that at level 8 a level 3 monster gives 16xp, level 4 gives 32xp, level 5 gives 48xp, etc.

What confuses me is that at level 5, a monster that was also level 5 was giving me like 120xp.

So my question really is: Does the xp continue to go up by 16 with each level of the monster, or is there a jump in xp somewhere along the lines?

What would really help is a list of monster levels(1-20) and how much xp they give, or even a formula I can work out myself (example: character lvl + monster level / the difference in their levels, or something like that LOL)

Sorry it's been a LONG time since I've had a low level character, and even longer still since I've had to grind for xp!

The XP basically depends on the difference between your level and the level of the foe. This article on the unofficial wiki gives the exact formula for calculating XP from killing foes.

I do not really care much for the exp because I do not want to crack my brains while I play. What I did instead before I hit past level 10 in pre are:

1) Do the bandit raids till I hit level 9 which gives rather good drops (no more exp after that)
2) Repeat Charr at the door by abandoning and getting quest over and over till I got to level 10 (Takes about 60 or so times)
3) Hand in and do all the other quests.

This will get you safely to past level 10 in pre. After that you can do the dailies.
