With dialogue from the commando implying that the A.R.E.N.A squad play some kind of role in the storyline of GW2, what exactly do you think theyre going to do?
Personally, I think they will act like a Dhuum character now, with a special animation like reppeling down from the roof and smuggling a character away into their chopper when someone is about to be banned, similar to the 'reaping' animation Dhuum does now.
Possible role for A.R.E.N.A in GW2?

I doubt any real connection will play out in gw2. You have to realize this is a joke. Anet might have been making fun of the criticism that gw2 has gotten too "technological" with the introduction of guns and whatnot, so they decided to take it a few steps further.

That's one RL referrence I could live without.

I think its a reference to the short story "Arena" in which 1 man and 1 alien are pitted against each other in combat that will determine which race survives.
Sure, its 2 vs. 1, but that can be looked over for story telling purposes of the quest. But think about it, the Charr want to kill Sarah to prevent Gwen from being born, thus making sure future Charr aren't killed. You want to destroy the golem to make sure Gwen is born and kills the Charr to make sure future humans aren't killed. It kind of works.

IMPLENT IT, AND DO IT NOW!
it would look so amazing!
All I know is that the Commando videos, the helicopter, the Twitter feed (@Corporal_Bane), and everything else all put together make this event the funniest thing I've seen in this game ever.
And with time travel, everything is in flux, so it would be awesome to see the Commandos make a return in GW2 during April Fool's or other isolated incidents (though it seems pretty obvious they won't be there permanently)

I wouldn't mind seing a time portal open up and some A.R.E.N.A. soldiers come pouring through it to grab a botter/cheater etc. and pull them through the warp gate and have it close for a perma ban in GW2. I think that would be a great deterrent for cheaters. We need more very visual anti-cheating reminders in place from the start of the game.
GW1 needed Dhuum back at launch. I think it would have went a long way to stop people from cheating. Last year got REALLY bad as far as botters were concerned.
