Help! I Have Been Banned!!!!

ok right now, i was on my ranger playing...
i was in Droknars Forge trying to trade somthing, and i was whispering with some of my friends.
then i minumnized out and checked some post here at GW guru.
then when i went back in, it said that i was logged off because another user had logged on to my account....

then i tried to logg on, and then it says im banned for 167 hours (net error 45) and i ahve violated the agreement rules and all that.


and im 100% sure that no one knows my password...

is there anything i can do? and wut could ahve happend?

If another user got onto your account, you most likely have a keylogger. Go contact Arenanet at http://support.guildwars.com/.

You were banned

Nothing you can do; just wait it out. Surely you can find something else to do. I suggest picking up the picture book on the side of you bed . Just kidding.
Or...
You can go to gaiaonline.com and spam there.

and wut can a key logger do to my account?....

Typical example:

They have your password, log on, transfer all your items to their account, then spam about keyloggers. Anet sees this and then bans the account.

You'll want to have your computer checked out, or if you know how do it yourself.

A key logger is a spyware that can tell what you can type...
Your password was 'keylogged', in short, stolen by someone figuring out what letters you typed.

So what can they do with the password?
They can change your current password so you cant get on anymore

Get on Guild Wars and change that password now! After you clear out the keyloggers, or they will get the new password.

Then after that, you have to wait your ban out. Nothing you can do.

Also you can get a keylogger from going to a Netcafe, where some hacker puts a keylogger program onto the pc and then whenever someone uses it, the keys you type will all be transmitted to the hackers pc. You can even get keyloggers from surfing the internet and to prevent this you should always have anti virus, ad ware and firewalls running in the background, sure they are annoying and may slow yuo down a bit but they are there to protect.

im not sure but if your on the payment plan if you cancel it im pretty sure they wont be able to log onto your account but if this has been on for a while im sure there done there business

Is it just me or does it make no sense that you get logged off when another person logs in on the same account...Shouldn't be the other way around? You can't log in because another person's logged on right now.

Actually, the way he describes it makes me wonder. Maybe it's a defensive measure by A.Net and NCSoft where, if your pass gets stolen and you happen to be logged on when they log on, it temp bans the account so that the person's acount is safe. If it's true, way to go A.Net and NCSoft. If not, then they may have really messed up your account, and you would have my condolences.

If you get NetErr=7'ed, you're still actually logged on for a bit. How would you feel if you got disconnected for a second and then couldn't log back on because your character's still sitting around in the game world?

Plus you can log in and kick out someone who've stolen your password, instead of having him squat on your account until he's plundered it clean.

im confussed...

cauz i e-mailed them (gw support) and asked about why i ahve been banend and what had happend. the reason why im banned is because someone has reported me for *acting* like someone from Anet.
which is true becuase someone scammed one of my friends and he lost around 100k, so i whisperd him and said that he should give back or he'll get banned. (which i regret very much for saying)

but the thing were i got logged off, because another user had accesed my account scares me...
i hope you are correct VGJustice that its a defensive measure by A.Net and NCSoft which loggs u off if anything dangrous happens.

i realy hope that its just because of me *acting* like a GM and not a key logger who has stolen all my things. (i been saving up alot for chapter 2)

I don't think this is correct, about a week ago I also was logged of because someone logged on to my account, and I was able to log in again right afterwards. Also, why would they ban someone for such a long period of time if it's just to safe your account?

They probably did it to log you off straight away.

Ah. You should re-read the EULA. It states clearly that that's bad. Very bad. And for good reason. If that's the case, then your ban is legitiment, and I have little pity for you.

On the other hand, I hapen to know a good and free spyware scaner called SpyBot - Search and Destroy.

even though he told someone he was going to get banned wouldnt it be better for the scammer to be banned than him? anet drops the ball yet again, its a sad day when someone scams then gets someone banned for trying to stick up for themselves.

I'm pretty sure he must have said a lot more than just 'You're going to be banned'.

You are jump to a conculsion without all the facts, he shouldn't have done anything other than whisper the guy asking to give the money back or he would be reported, when this fails then report the scammer.

It's not Anets fault if the scammer hasn't been reported(not sure if he has or not as the OP hasn't stated) they don't know things magically.

I would think they banned your account then logged in as you to kick you out of the game since you couldnt log back in
