Adjustment to PvE skill limit

Instead of banning Heroes from using PvE skills, allow them to take PvE skills as long as them + the player don't exceed 3 in total.

Why? Some classes get shafted in terms of whats available. Physicals can all run SY which makes the party invincible, but casters are much worse off. Monks don't have much worthwhile other than Seed of Life, mesmer PvE skills suck, etc etc. This leads to a massive power disparity between a caster player + 7 heroes and a physical player + 7 heroes. In this case, since the player isn't using many PvE skills they should be able to put 1 or 2 on a hero. This will also let the player themselves run a greater variety of builds, since f.e. physicals won't feel an absolute need to use an SY spamming bar and can delegate this to a hero while they run something else. OTOH, Sins are generally recognized as ridiculously flimsy in PvE (especially heroes that will run right in). How do they become not flimsy? Critical Agility. What won't heroes have? Critical Agility. What does this make Sin heroes? Useless.

TL;DR Not a means to increase power, but let you use more available heroes that would otherwise not be nearly as helpful without PvE skills in exchange for not being able to use PvE skills yourself. It may appear that 3 of x awesome skill would be overpowered, but you have to give up equally valuable other skills you could be running. That's build diversity.

PvE skills are for humans and groups of humans. Take other players if you want more PvE skills.

You aren't getting more. You still have 3, but your heroes can use them instead of you.

Cry of Pain is fine. There are some weak PvE skills, but each profession seems to have at least one strong one.

Throw PI on different targets.
Minions + Spirits absorb damage in a general PvE group.

With max Asura rank, you have to take 58 damage to hit the 80 damage cap.
In hard mode that is easily done and out healed.

Whew, 50 damage and degen thats slightly better than poison. Totally comparable to +100 armor, amirite?

So? 80 damage is still minimal unless the one with PI on it is an AoE enemy anyway. Pain inverter isn't that bad but its hardly gamebreakingly good.

I've already done DoA HM with 7 heroes as it is, I don't think Anet is too concerned about things being 'too easy' anymore. Letting a hero use a PvE skill would simply make the team building much more interesting.

Being able to distribute the 3 PvE skills you're allotted to your heroes doesn't sound unreasonable.

Take hero sins, for example. Anet themselves basically admit that sins cant work in high level PvE without Critical Agility because 70 base armor frontline is just crappy, but it has to be a PvE skill because otherwise PvP balance goes down the toilet. Yet Hero Sins can't use Critical Agility. So an entire profession is nearly useless, because there is no way you can justify putting the AI in control of a near-caster armor level frontliner.

I should really edit the OP to point out that this isn't intended to be a power increase, so illiterate people don't get confused.

I know it isn't a power increase, and it will remain with 3 skills, I am not stupid. The reason I blew away your request is because you are already given an awesome advantage that is seriously overpowered and can do pretty much anything in the game with a lot of ease, and you still dare to complain and ask for more. They give you a hand, and you want the arm.

You should really edit the OP to point out that this is actually a sad childish way of acting to what you get, so us grateful people don't get confused.

p.s. Be grateful you can bring 7 heroes now! The fact that you can now completely customize your party means that you can have 5+ Discord spammers, 5+ Searing Flames spammers, etc etc. You'll be surprised how much more damage this allows...

I don't care if bringing one copy of a PvE skill on a hero prevents you from using it on another hero; like the TC mentioned, it will make war/sin/ranger/para heroes more useful by letting them use PvE skills. Also, 5+ Discord/SF spammers is only for those who can afford it and for people who can only run mindless Discord/SoS/Panic/insert OP caster hero build.

XFD at all the people exaggerating how OP this would be while at the same time, supported implementing the 7 hero cap.

This is NOT what the Thread creator says.
He doesn't say 3 per hero, which would be 24 PvE skills.

Let's say you have 7 heroes.
With yours, that's 8 bars of 8 skills, or 64 skills in total.
What creator says is 3 PvE skills IN TOTAL, and none repeated, which would be 3 different PvE skills out of 64.

I think that if that makes people not bring PvE skills in their own build, and put his 3 PvE skills only in one or more of his heroes, that's actually better that limiting the PvE skills to the player, if that would make the player get used to not bringing PvE skills in his build.

PvE skills r for players only not for H/H imo
They r linked to ranks the player progresses in.
