Drawing/Pinging Indicator

I've always found those people that ping incessantly and draw uneededly (mainly obscene pics and mass lines)to be extremely annoying.

I think it would be nice (although, I know it won't happen) if when someone pings or draws on the mini map their name in the party list would have some sort of an indicator. Much like how an indicator appears when a party member pings a foe. Maybe use same one just change the color and function a bit.

i would also like a new report feature to be able to report these idiots who ping constantly thru a game or scribble non stop.

I'd also suggest different colours per member with appropriate coloured markers next to party name, so when you have one person who is doing tactics while two more are drawing dicks, you knows who the troublemakers are.

Make the pings and lines have a color, and the name of the one making those lines and dots blink with that color, and that should be enough.

What about the colors?
Well, we know there can be up to 8 thanks to rollerbeetle races.

This has been suggested before, as far back as May, 2005.

Given that we have a 7-hero update looming, and given that such an update will necessitate a change to the compass an UI anyway, it would be cool if they could take some extra time ti implement this. But since its been requested for so long, its probably not going to happen.

It's been suggested longer than I've even been playing. I always thought you should be "suppressed" if you ping/draw too much like spamming in the local chat. I once had to do the entire THK mission+bonus with some really good players. IT was my only chance on the character to get the mission and bonus done successfully in a short amount of time. Problem was, one of them really enjoyed drawing ejaculating penises, scribbling and pinging the hell out of the compass. Quite annoying. At least an option to kill the ping sound, that really got on my nerves.

Ahhh, I bloody HATE it when you get those bastards who just spam Swastikas on the minimap. It's usually a Swastika vs St David stars war making everyone either rage and play badly or just rage quit.

The only reason I'd like this is for when I'm in JQ. People don't realise that if the turtle is killed without a stone and when the quarry is owned by kurzicks that it's beneficial to the luxons if it dies... so STOP PINGING A THOUSAND TIMES WHEN WE WANT TO LET IT DIE.

When ppl complaining about everything it's good to pains something strange (for eg. penis) for lol. They stop complaining and mutually offense and think "Ermmm who was that?"

Everything's better when the sounds off and the compass isnt in the middle of the screen....I dont think its a big deal, people are still gonna do it even with the name.

I really don't know what to say here.... On one hand, I like the idea, because when people ping and draw even after you ask/tell them to stop, it gets pretty annoying. Also, I had a monk leave halfway through a DoA run simply because some little kid wouldn't stop pinging and drawing on the map.

On the other hand, people really need to learn to just deal with it. Yeah it's annoying, and yeah, it's stupid, but this is teh internetz. What do you expect? Really, it's just a small circle in the corner of the screen. Most of the time you're not really looking there. Although drawing can be very bad when somebody is trying to pull... but whatever.

People would still do it even if they were identified.

Only thing I use compass for is drawing, and tactical drawing that is, not stupid shit, although I don't mind as long as it's once, and not that there is a penis on my compass 24/7.

Colors would be cool, like #1 red, #2 green etc etc, problems this will give? Try drawing with a red line when you're in veil, gg. White is pretty neutral and visible anywhere, but I wouldn't mind.

What annoys me most is the lack of artistic talent the lot of you have. All the "penises" look the same -- like a fish doodled by a preschooler.

I'll sign, but only if the ID feature came with the ability to ignore certain party members' pings/scribbles.
