Banning...

When a player is banned temp. eg for 72 hours. Is it possible to postpne this? I have contacted staff at Anet just wondering if anyone else new?

No, you cannot postpone a (temporary) ban. Banning usually happens for a serious offense, and you being able to postpone it and choose when is the most convenient time for you to be banned for 72 hours, would negate its purpose.

I guess you will have to deal with it.

If you could put off temp bans, then they would lose their purpose.
Everyone would just put off their ban until it was convenient, like they would put it off until they go out of town or during the week if they are in school and don't much on weekdays

Lol I mean post postpne a full temp ban eg. have the 335 hours in 21 days time. Anet could make a limit to how long you could postpne it eg. a month. But you cant turn the ban of and on because that would be pointless. RedDog91 you completely missunderstood...

Actually no, RedDog91 didn't at all mention being able to turn it on and off at all. He was talking about postponing the ban for a block of time in which you're not planning to play the game anyway, such as "postponing" a 72 hour ban to make it start on Monday since you're not planning on playing during the week. The ban would then have expired by the time the weekend starts. Hence the ban wouldn't inconvenience you at all, since you weren't gonna play during that time anyway.

That completely negates the purpose of the ban, which is to keep you from playing when you want to be playing as a punishment.

Also, what are you talking about with the 335 hours and 21 days? Please be more clear.

So you're basically wondering if you can wait three weeks before the ban goes into effect, right? Bans are meant to be a punishment. If being banned now is too much of an inconvenience, then perhaps you should rethink what you were doing to get banned in the first place.

It's a ban. Like a "time out" for kids when they do something wrong. It starts when the parent say it starts not when the kid say it starts.

Chances is he's trolling again. Just the other day he was asking how the ban system is working (with a smily), and now asking if bans can be postponed. Oh yeah, and he wanted a new title for failing missions?

if you got a temp ban, you deserved it, and you deserved it now...not later.

QFT. There was a time when people would come on here QQing about how they missed "X" event (CNY, Halloween, Wintersday, etc.) because they did something to get themselves banned. To which the advice given is the same as it is here:

"Don't do stupid things that will get you suspended and you'll never have the problem."

What do you have to do to be SUSPENDED for 21 days?

like temp bans matter anymore, every time i show up at an outpost there is always someone bragging about how they have been banned 36545 times.... i say 3 strike rule, 3rd strike is a perma ban no matter how little the infraction was, this temp ban crap just doesnt do anything
