I didn't realise there were bonuses in missions for an embarrassingly long time (feel free to laugh - I can't believe I was so dense), so I've completed quite a few of the storyline missions without gaining the bonus for them. Is it possible for me to go back and re-do my completed missions to gain the bonuses, or do I have to start again with a new character in order to get the Protector title?

Good news!!! You don't have to start over again. Just go back and redo any mission you want...any time you want. Oh...and do the bonus this time, lol. GL.

Even better, you don't even need to finish the mission. Get the bonus, head to the next mission.

I'd like to point out however that this is only relevant for Prophecies. In Factions and Nightfall you must complete the mission for the bonus to be completed as well. This is because the bonus objectives in Prophecies are related to whats going on but not completely linked. For example, you might rescue someone or deliver an artifact in Prophecies, but in Nightfall it's more a case of completing the main objective better, e.g, disabling all the control towers so you can't be followed. Factions bonuses are almost exclusively 'complete the mission in less than x minutes' rather than additional things to do.

You'll know you've completed the bonus objectives when you see a little animation where the mission shield appears on screen and a sword in the other direction (as opposed to the mission completion one) is placed behind it. Factions and Nightfall also use this kind of thing but in a slightly different way.

While the Question has been effectively answered. The only 2 titles that you can actually make impossible to get on a character are Legendary Defender of Ascalon and Legendary survivor. In case a similar question comes up for some odd reason.

You can also redo all the missions (and bonuses) in Hard Mode.
