Again ANT creates incentive to Play PvE over PvP. Gotta luv the GW2 HoM calculator. At least all players that want "GW reward" in GW2 know just what they need to do in order to MAX the "rewards".

And it turns out that you need EXACTLY ONE PvP item (any PvP title) in your HoM. Thats it??? EVERYTHING ELSE is PvE!!!!

Now I'm certainly no genius, but it seems to me that those gamers that desire a full HoM (per the calculator) will focus their available game time on PvE & NOT PvP.

Anyway, it occurs to me that if ANET wanted to sustain SOME incentive for gamers to choose between PvP over PvE, then maybe they should offer in-game gold for kills in PvP so that those players could also BUY the items they need for a full HoM. Essentially when you play PvP, you are effectively excluded from 49 of the 50 HoM items required for "max rewards" (unless of course you use zkeys from the balth you earn or you get the ZC & trade for zoins items - booze/sweets/party)

Guess I shoulda seen THAT commin.

It's just titles and shitty little rewards, nothing worth having a heart attack over.

Actually, if you only put one PvP title into your HoM, you'd have 8 points (3 for accounts linked, 2 for having a statue, 3 for a PvP statue), not just 1. If you also added your wolf pet you'd have 9 points. That's not so bad, is it? :P

yes..becuz clearly the other PvP titles don't count towards the points for having 10, 15, 20, 25, 30, 35, and 40 total titles.
/facepalm

Wait...why would a hardcore PVP player be looking for GW2 PVE rewards?

The Hall of Monuments is a PvE area accessible through PvE play originally designed around PvE content, what do you expect doomfodder? Should we start complaining that Great Temple of Balthazar surrounding PvP zones lack PvE content?

Long story short, what Daesu said.

@ Daesu : that's all the point. Why would a random pver be much more rewarded than a serious pvp'er ? There's some logic problem ( especially around the words " fair " ) but anyway , since it's BETA version , i guess they probably will do something

There also might be the slight issue of appealing to the consumer base. It's no secret that the majority of GW players...ie consumers...play PvE. From a business standpoint it makes sense.

You might be inferring something that wasn't intendted in the OP, Its not a complaint... It's an observation...

ANET is intentionally trying to STEER gamers INTO PvE & AWAY FROM PvP. If ANET wanted to STEER gamers INTO PvP, they would have created the HoM incentive accordingly. Really, that's all...

Maybe becuz...gasp...it can't be...ANET told us that GW2 is Maily PvE oriented.
How dare they give us PvE rewards in a mostly PvE game? Those scoundrels!

Guess why ? Hard ass PvP players don't give a damn about rewards like that. And to have many PvP statues, you have to be a hard ass PvP player.

Next you'll be complaining that a PvP player can't get GWAMM.

Why, when people have spent the last 3 years lamenting the state of PvP, would you want rewards to transfer over to a new unsullied game? Let everyone start from a blank slate in PvP and work their way up based on skill, and let's just hope that the rewards are meaningful and allocated appropriately this time.

Yea... that kind of makes sense considering GW2 is going to be a primarily PvE game....

Plus, a vast majority of the playerbase are PvEers. Im not surprised that Anet is trying to appeal more to them then to PvPers.

Again, welcome to 2 years ago.

Also, who cares? The PvP in GW is still better than any other MMO. We won't get that in GW2, because the money-market is PvE (and PvE'ers will pay real cash to change their appearance).

Anet is trying to hit the majority of GW's players, which means aiming at PvE. I would absolutely love it if GW1 were to get a developer that actually gave a rat's ass about PvP and tried to update skills and improve the game, but that's not going to happen.

In the end, PvP in GW is still the best out of any MMO, and it's still fun. Sure, they neglect it. Sure, none of the devs are PvP'ers and the majority of them don't seem to understand how PvP works. And sure, PvP'ers got robbed on HoM rewards. But there's nothing they are going to do about it now and I don't know that they'd even know how to help PvP in GW anymore if they wanted to.

They definitely can't make a new HoH map anymore, since none of the devs have any idea how to play HA.

Does it really matter? People who are playing for the title are neither fun to play with or against.
