Order of opening chests?

I was wondering if anyone had ever done any research on the order of which people open chests (reward chests), and if that has an effect on the chances of a rare drop? I did a search, but was unable to find info on this....if there is already a thread plz redirect. I'm not sure if it is just me, but for some reason I tend to notice that rares drop more for the ppl that open the chests from the 3rd to the 6th spots. Any thoughts?

Its totally random.
you open the chest, and the engine % out a wep to you, then the next party member.
people who say "you go first" just wanna see their drops first/ think that they will get better items.
ive done it many times, and no profit from 3rd-6th..

The statistics say it doesn't really matter. But, I almost always see the guy getting the best drop is not the first or last to open. I always try to open the chest after 2-3 people have already popped it.

its all random.
but if u believe in it, go ahead, wont hurt
its like roulette. some ppl think there's a pattern, some may not.

i'll have to dig around in my screen shots but i have one of two emerald blades dropping in one run!

so ya it's total random.

I've a screeny when Fendi's Chest dropped two BDS to a guildie. So...it's totally random.

Would have been something to keep track of when doing all those dungeon runs, eh Snow? Would have had quite a bit of statistical data.

Off the top of my head I don't think any of my rare dungeon drops came from opening it first, but I have nothing scientific to add. Pretty sure double diamonds can drop in 1-8.

Could start tracking the SoOSC and KathSC chests but I agree it's probably random.


By the way I'll be back in about 2 weeks. Have some vacation, a few weddings, a work trip (currently), and starting the house remodel when I get back. Say Hi to the fellas and ladies for me.

I got all my rare drops when i opened the chest 4th. Like it's probably totally random but i'm pretty lucky when opening the chest 4th.

i have been doing ALOT of SC's, got :

2 VS
3 eaglecrest axe
5 emmy blades
2 obsidian blades
4 bds'es
6 cobalt staffs
1 insectoid staff
3 Strom daggers
1 Dryad bow
2 silverwing recurve's
______________________________
as good as i remember about 75% of all those drops came weirdly enough from the first or last open... so i try to get the first or the last one .

sometimes you also see that people who die more get all the good stuff, ofc thats not rlly true... but its just weird to see...

i'm with essence on this one. full 8 man parties i've noticed 3-6 seem to be the hot spot as long as all 8 members are live. if heroes are taken it shifts slightly to the lower end of the list like the 6-8 spots.
