A'net really did it this time!
This is so ridiculously difficult that it's daft....
If they're gonna make something this tricky they might at least let us have a party of 8 w. lvl 20 hench, otherwise this is just a joke!
1. Groups that appear w. 3 bosses in them (wth!).
2. Completely underpowered NPC's as help (these get wiped in about .01 secs).
3. Groups of ca 10 eles w. Unsteady, MS, Savannah and seemlingy 0.5 sec recharge on these skills.
4. Monster skills to which we have absolutely no equivalent (i.e. Spectral agony). And no, Pain Inverter is not the answer on groups of foes using this :/.
Addiontally PUGing on things like this is often more of a pain than H/H tbh.
If this is an effort from A'net to get us to do more stuff in groups, the point has been missed somewhere.
Well, if that's a taste of GW2, or what's to come, count me out!
Rant over and out

It's basically Thunderhead Keep vol.2.
Back to early Prophecies I've failed this mission 30 times with people
Mostly because everybody played on his own, rather than like a team ...
Now you have heroes and OPed PvE skills, as well as PvX builds.
After 5 years, there is no excuse for failing this mission except for lag/personal inadequacy to play GW.

I've only done this once, H/H with a guildy.
And I'm not going to lie, I found it fun more than anything.
It wasn't difficult, it was just long... And it wasn't long in the boring sense.
Overall, it was a very enjoyable quest and I can't wait to do it on the rest of my characters!
The quest doesn't hold a 'Masters' tag for no reason, team up with a guildy or friend and you'll be fine! Go nuts, get yourself a nice new weapon!

I tried it once with H/H and made it through all the White Mantle before getting ripped by the Mursaat.
I did it with a PUG, one that was co-ordinated and worked out our builds and strategy before starting and we whupped the snot out of everything they threw at us. A little defense goes a long way.

The problem with this mission is that it's not really "challenging", it's just the frustrating type of challenge that ANet seems to love so much.
Encounters are not well thought out, you're just flooded with spawns from the front gate. Enemies are not any smarter either, they are just (ridicolously) numerous and often hard-hitting if you're not prepared enough.
A textbook example of quantity over quality, you don't really need any strategy to clear the mission, you just have to hit them harder as you can't overcome them in number.

MoP nuker, SoS, UA hero monk, 100b Warrior, Imbagon, Splinter Barrage Ranger in my team. Great laugh, it's just a pity i cant redo it all again in HM.
It's not hard at all. Intense? Yes. Very much so, a great addition to GW.
I just find it hard to understand why some people insist on complaining about possibly the best free addition to the game ever.

I'm not complaining about the quest itself.
What I find bafflig is that they put this in an area where a max crew is 6. You're bound to get raped w. a 6 team at one point or another w. sooooo many foes. (Specially where the hench r lvl 10, gotta laugh yer sox off)
I don't really think I'm being unrealistic either. I've done lots of DoA, UW etc.
Gonna see if a guildy or ally can help....

I've tried 3-4 times now with different setups and I have no problems whatsoever until the large group with mursaat comes, then I start wiping fast again and again.
Do you guys use consumables because I have a hard time seeing how it's doable without.

Oh well somehow I managed to get it done mind you with 60% the entire last part and two crappy level 10 henchmen
Arrogant much?
Not that simple.

I thought it was consistent with other quests marked with the Masters difficulty with the exception of the amount of mobs. It is for sure one you will need to do with a PUG or Guild. I tried once with H/H and go to the last boss and was just overwhelmed as essentially your party becomes 4 as the henchmen are terrible.
Tried it with a PUG and we passed pretty easily. As was said earlier I think it might be one of the best free updates the games has seen and I was very happy with it. I also like the fact that once you are done you have access to the crafters and unique weapons rather than having to go through it again and you still have access to the bounties. I really don't see what the complaints are about.

I've done it twice. The first time I was using my Necro (SS) and was with two very good Monks, a couple of Warriors and an SoS Ranger. The second time I used my Rit (SoS) and was with a Warrior, MM, Nuker, Splinter Barrage Ranger and a Monk. My Rit died once towards the end, but aside from that it was pretty easy, but definitely fun.
I'm looking forward to whatever comes next ^.^

This is one of the most fun times I've ever had in Guild Wars. The difficulty is just right, it feels epic, and it's overall a lot of fun.
Don't whine about it. It's meant to be difficult..
edit - my team was SS necro/SoS Rit/AotL nec/Defy warrior/Panic Mes/ME ON MONK.
The key is that everyone has to actually be useful.
