Returning Long Inactive Player

so i reinstalled GW yesterday and attempt to login to my old account, but it tells me some of my information is not correct or something, i did some back tracking and made sure that i was doing everything right, and i was. i tried to use arenanet support but have been unsuccessful so far.

i am just curious if there was a shift from old accounts or something? is there some easy process i have to complete to get my character back?

besides user name and pass, you also need one of the character names on the account for security reasons.

right, and i did all that, i also tried password reset, and nothing worked

You may have been hacked. I would advise contacting NCSoft support, using the web site, and file a report. Take a look for your orginal disks handy so that you can send scans of the key codes to prove ownership.
I am sorry to say that is about all the help we, on this forum, can be.

i mean i submitted my original verification key from my original GW CD case, NCSoft is just taking forever to respond to me

Support has been down recently. I'd bring a book.

you could have been hacked yes.. but A-net also did a MAJOR ban attack on botters, syncers, gold sellers and the like... if youve done any of the above in the past (even a couple years ago), theres a chance you got caught in the banvasion.. Support is probably down or greatly reduced because of the flood of people protesting their bans and it will most likely be a while before you can get through.

I think they said 3700 accounts got nailed. Try to be patient while they try to process everyone - were all in the same boat with trying to get through to support.

if he had been banned it would have said your account has been banned for such and such....not you have put the wrong information in.

i never did any of that, but i did at one point give my account info over to a friend after i stopped playing the first time and i fear he may have done something like that cause he always was kind of sketchy. its a good thing they are cracking down on that bullcrap though, it ruins MMOs

Well, now your account will be banned should any ANET employee see this thread.

Transfer of accounts is not permitted and they can and will ban for that.

i had no idea, this happened like at least 4 years ago when the game first launched
