Elite Tomes

Do a few z-quests and buy them from the zaishen traders

Probably the fastest way to get them (except for buying them from other players)

Its not like 500 copper coins for an tome or more? Probably more, but if you do the Z-Quests daily and don't buy other stuff with the coins, you'll probably have more than enough

elite tome = 2 gold Zoins = 30 silver = 1500 bronze nice math.
1 gold = 10 silver, so naturally,
2 gold = 30 silver.

Did Anet add some hidden nerf to elite tomes ?

120 Jishol Darksong kills - 0 tomes
170 Chkkr Thousand Tail kills - 0 tomes
100 Byzzr Wingmender kills - 0 tomes

Ofcourse all done in HM, they nerfed drops or i have really bad luck? Your odds of Elite Tomes are substantially greater if you just ran HM chests. Farming bosses for Elite Tomes is not ideal. You're wasting your time.

with like henchies and heroes?
or are you solo farming?

either way, if thats how the drop is, your better off doing something else to get elite tomes.

you would prolly have better luck from HM chests This or the post below about the Z-coins is your most time efficient way. Lately I have been averaging an elite tome every 1 of 10 chests in HM. I have never had good luck with tomes by boss farming. I have better luck at the green items than tomes. On most occasions if I really want a tome I will get it through z-coins.
