Medal of Honor?

Finally got started catching up on the WiK events/convos and have ended up with a Medal of Honor. According to Wiki, there is no use for the item... Since they are part of the WiK events, should I be hanging onto them? Has anyone heard/seen what they are going to be used for?

nope, no idea what they may be used for, but i'm sre that they will be related to futrue events may be required to progress further in the WiK story later on as more stuff comes out. speculation ;-)

regina said in another post that they are a "secret" and you should hold onto them. I think she posted it in one of the update threads in riverside.

Martin (I think it was him) said something similar over on the GW2G forums. No clue on the amount you'd need to have though.

Divulging into pure speculation, many people believe that they will be used for White Mantle Weapons.

On the Medal of Honor wiki discussion page there was one user that linked to a .dat file that showed new weapons.

That's what I have my money on. I really hope so too because they have some really cool new skins.

I'm guessing you can trade them in for something...doubt they'll make these unobtainable once the use is out though?

i hope its sometimes universal.. or can be sold? because i dont have eotn or nf can't get past dialouge 4 or 5 because u need to do Thackery's Hunt... i currently have 3 Medals and im sort of stuck with them.. i dont like that the updates require u to have all campaigns to view/interact with them

Kinda where I was goin with the idea Bender *lol* Wasn't sure if I should just keep the ones I get out of gifts or actually trade for them directly Perhaps when I get what I want out of the gifts (like that ever happens) I'll go to directly getting the medals.

you can buy the game and all campaigns for $20 its not exactly bank breaking now is it.

i reckon its gonna be like trade 150 medal of honors for a weapon or summit crazy like that as u can trade 25 supplies for 1 (yer right).

That was totally worth bumping a 4 day old thread with a frontpage duplicate. Yes I realise I'm not helping either.

well one of things is that i just need NF and eotn. and since i have to buy it seperatly..together its about $40 and its kind of expensive for someone who doesnt have a job yet..(just turned 16) but it says to see the WiK you need to beat prophecies.. i have..but it didn't say u needed to do other side things in EoTN to continue it..

im guessing they will be unoptainable when WiK has ended, and people will get rewarded for helping in the war.
also think they will be unoptainable when the war end, it would look kinda dumb walking up to salma: hey sry im late, i know the war has already ended, but here take some war supplies and praise me for my help...

I don't think the WiK will ever "end"... It's more likely permanent content. It will just go on and on with the daily bounties and eventual missions.

In some years time the civil war will "end" and bring to the events kickstarting GW2 (which is set 250 years from now), but my guess is we won't actually see the war ending in the first game.

Isn't it about time for them to explain the purpose of the medals of honor?

I have a stack of 250 war supplies and I am waiting with trading until I know what the best trade would be. If they will be used to get some cool armor or a weapon, please let us know so I am sure to hold on to them till whatever time the next step is taken in this whole thing.
