Well, the prophecies campaign was not meant for using heroes, if it was then the prophecies characters would have access to heroes like the EotN and NF. Through the years since heroes have been added we've seen how it damaged the PVE part of the game, specially whithin the prophecies lands.
Just like now heroes cannt be used in gvg, they shouldn't be used within the prophecies campaign, at least to keep "some" of it's original spirit still alive.
I'm not sure, but i believe the same happen with factins.
Maybe removing heroes and their always perfect timing for doing everything would bring back a bit of the challenge it was to play the prophecies campaign.

Sure, give people even LESS reason to play prophecies. Considering that the entire campaign is an unrewarding, monotonous pita until the Crystal Desert, or possibly even the Dragon's Lair, removing heroes will just leave proph more deserted than it already is. |
The main city in Prophecies (LA) is basically dead. I check the search and I usually only see 40 people tops during peek hours. Most missions except maybe Hell's Precipice are empty except for a few AFK'ers. The only way to do the missions in prophecies is to use heroes most of the time. Removing heroes would just cause more complaining about Henchmen and more people asking in Guild/Alliance chat for someone to help them.
I noticed you have another thread advocating the use of henchmen in UW and FOW or possibly disallowing heroes there as well. It seems to me that since you don't have heroes, you want to bring everybody else down to your level so it's "fair." Let's face it, the game is 5 years old now, and much of prophecies is completely abandoned. So say your suggestion is implemented, what does that accomplish? Outposts that may see 2 or 3 people a day now see none, but at least the game is "fair" again.

Bad thread is really bad.
No, no and no.
If anyone want more challenge playing without heroes its just a matter of not bringing them with you. Still easy? bring less henchies. Still easy? remove healers. Still easy, take of all your equipment and try hard mode. Still easy?dont use elite skills or pve skills.
got the picture ? is that challening enuff now? Good.

If you think i didn't knew i would be shot with a ball of cr*p for making the suggestion you will be very wrong, i know perfectly it would happen, but that's the way it is, the only way to make suggestions and such is via fansites (which makes non sense) but hey, i don't care, i have seen many really really pathetic suggestions being made through my 5 yars playing GW. Yes, i am pissed because the money i spent un purchasing my games was screwed when they released the "upgrades", while upgrade means usually making something better, instead of getting an upgrad IF i buy the expansion we've got a downgrade on the basic game.
Like it or not, i will keep advocating in favor of recovering prophecies as it was. At least i defend my rights as comsumer instead of just spending more money to get screwed again and again.
It is my right to do so, so i am sorry for those who don't like it.

No one cares about how self centered you are demanding that the game you bought be better then all the other ones...stop acting like your better then everyone who did buy the games... At least they're capable of understanding why your perfect skills got dulled down QQ
While we are at it, maybe we should ban them from Factions too...
/sarcasm
Seriously though, one name: M.O.X.
s/he/it is acquirable in both Prophecies and Factions so both campaigns do have a hero (not to mention Zinn's lair is actually in a Proph area, not to mention the new content coming out...)
So definitely a /notsign for me. Also it isnt really the heros that have damaged the PvE side of the game, but OP skills, namely the PvE only ones...
Sidenote

Ho boy, 'always perfect timing...' I gather you haven't played with heroes that much, if at all. They have some... Shall I say 'Character traits' that can border on frustration sometimes. Three I can point out are Tahlkora's intermittent use of UA (I get so frustrated having to manually select it sometimes), Koss' ability to aggro anything even when set on peaceful (okay, slight exaggeration, but he is a damn aggro magnet) and Vekk's seeming refusal to use wards

I see no facts here or any logical points. Just an ignorant, biased opinion.
