The Canthan Workshop

Welcome to the Canthan Workshop! Here artist and art apreciators meet there needs of art addiction. This Workshop is here for you to bring some exitement and the best art out of the artists. We'd love you to enter to see some great works, but remember the most important thing is groth! So set yourself some high goals. For the ones not entering, please give help with critics and suggestions and help this thread stay alive ^^

Some people of Nolani thought that the two contest Anet gave us were not enough. Therefor we were thinking of adding another contest ourselves! The theme of this workshop is... Cantha! The origin of this workshop is combined of the Canthan New Years Event and the Dragon Festival. But ofcourse you're free to interpreted this in any way you want! So work your best on this eastern theme and show us what you got!

We all loved you to enter! Wether you just started or did this for years, please join us in the fun. If you are considering entering a small post would be apriciated. You can enter with all sorts of art: Traditional drawings, photomanipulation or digital painting, dresses and costumes or even masks, music or sculpture, whatever comes you your mind! If your final result is finished please fill in the form.

Not too bad eh, short and to the point

The dealine to submit your art will be set at the 15th of June. Though it's not likely to, this date might change in the future, but it will only be delayed, so if you aim for the 15th your always right on time
Things that could inspire you could be:
The Zodiac and the Stars
Fireworks shooing away evil spirits (in guildwars' case the Nian)
Kuunavang ofcourse
A dragon costume (the ones where 10 people are under the dress and walk like a long bit dragon.
New Year wishing balloons (Maybe a nice finishing touch to make your pic complete)

The prize ofcourse is personal groth, eternal glory and new friends ^^ But to make things a bit more materialistic we will be hosting prices, also because there will not be a official contest this time.

this seems fun..... im personally an up- and comming artist...(im learnign it in school). But i do have some ideas w/ canthan so ill be sure to try to draw something( note i say something.. it probably wont be all that preety ;p).

but yea seems fun.. at the very least we get to have some cool canathan art!!! ( im assuming thats the idea.. your topic wasnt the clearest..(i have no idea what the 'wintersday workshop is) but i guess we draw canathan stuff and turn it in)

I would be happy to help plan a party.

I can also have a rumage for some gifts.

If I have time I would like to make something (have 3 home improvement projects I want to get done before the pollen gets too bad to have the house airing out). So depends on the time frame I have to work in and if I can settle on an idea.

I like the idea, and I'm considering to enter - BUT [and this is a big one] I'm a long way away from GW fanart at the moment and unless I get a really good idea, I'll probably pass due to time restrictions. We'll see... I'll definitely donate though, got some purple smitey poop frozen

But to give you a short discription, this is a workshop of which the idea is that everyone entering tries to improve him/herself and share progress. It's a community thing here, made more nolani friends last time I joined ^^ The idea is everyone works out an artwork before the deadline (will post that one soon, will probably be around 20 June) and then we see how well everyone did, hand out some prices for the best ones and are happy with eachother ^^

I'll join, I'd actually love to play around with costumes/props again, it's been a while. Once I sell of a couple items and thaw some pinkies, I'll be able to donate more, too. ^-^
