Like /wiki to open Guild wars wiki, /guru could open Guild Wars Guru. Another addition to this could be /guru *enter section here* (eg. riverside, auctions, campfire. Or this could be the search option. ie *enter question or search for* like the wiki does).

If the game was running smoothly I would /sign. However it isn't and other issues need to be looked at right now so /notsigned.

Edit: This is not a flame or rudeness. Just saying it would take a couple days to code in, and other things should be adressed first.

hahahahahaha no.

The wiki is -by- them, which is the only reason it's built into the game. Guru is not.

No please just no...I've seen what the people of gw are like...they're scary...and you want to make it EASIER for them all to get here?

While I whole-heartedly want more people on guru...I don't want every 10 year old with names like Dark Paladin X on here making videos to "prove" that hm boss farming is impossible...

I would like to think the intelligence level of the average guru user to be slightly above those random people in game...I feel that opening up the flood gates like that might not be a good idea...

but...I'm an ass... and everyone probably disagrees...and none of this makes sense probably because I haven't slept in...wow...when did i sleep last...

soooo

/meh

edit: basically I've seen how official forums have turned out in some cases it's good in some cases it's bad...I don't wanna turn this into something like that and have it ruined....

edit: @bob or rather a continuation...

1) instal xfire and register
2)run gw
3)hit scroll lock + b in game

I lol'ed.

On-topic: NO! ABSOLUTELY NOT! DO NOT WANT!!!! The main reason why wiki is incorpated into Guild Wars is because the wiki IS OWNED BY ARENA.NET. Guru is not. And by your logic, if they add Guru to their list, then they'd have to add every single other Guild Wars fansite to it.

Keep in mind in the end Guru is nothing more than a popular fansite.

Your comment about gwguru being just a fansite like every other? Lets take a field trip. Go find your guildwars box. For this example i will use my Factions Pre order box. All the way at the back it mentions the community. They just happen to list 14 websites. Websites such as http://guildwars.mmorpgs.info/
http://gwvault.ign.com/
http://www.rpgstars.com/
and omggg they list http://www.guildwarsguru.com/
Well this must validate your point right? A listing of gwguru as a fansite? Incorrect. Anet can/will not legally print a website in their marketed product that they dont have 100% control over. The liability and risk is just to vast for arenanet to just post any site that gets a few hits about guildwars. There are mods on this site that are Anet staff members, there are 5year veterans on this site, and there are also Test Krewe/Beta Members of gw1 and 2. Having the ignorance to think Anet doesnt control there most inhabited "elite guildwars fansite" is just simply appauling.
tl;dr. I stopped reading at "Your comment about gwguru being just a fansite like every other". Maybe you should reconsider your level of reading comprehension. I clearly said "popular website".

What is this website about?

Guild Wars Wiki is the official English language wiki for Guild Wars. It is hosted by ArenaNet for the Guild Wars community to be managed and shaped by the community.
I do believe the bolded part dictates ownership....

Funny doesn't seem to be on the back of my Faction CE but that's unimportant

Orly? and why not...they have "control" in the whole copyright bit...we have copyrighted anet shit all over this site...
It's not any site but rather a site with a positive outlook of Guild Wars (looks on the back of the box for a link to the QQ forums)...

Yeah sure...but they have limits...I have gotten away tons of times with pretty much saying ANET AND NCSOFT IS FULL OF COMPLETE AND UTTER IDIOTS ... Yet as my user title states I have no usernotes yet...I know of no Dev run forum I could get away with that...

I would consider that a fairly hands off policy...Makes me wonder if they acctually have mod powers...(thanks for clearing that up Kattar (see below for more juicy details))

ok...soooooo....what does part 1 have to do with part 2 in this bit of a statement?

5 year veterans...no shit are they going to be on a site dedicated to the game if they've been playing that long....

Test Krewe people... ummm.... no shit are they going to be on a site dedicated to the game if Anet feels them worthy of testing stuff...

Beta Memebers of gw1...see 5 year veterans...

Beta Members of gw2...lol wut...since when is the game in beta....I must have missed the memo...

Now then...what do players have to do with Anet "controlling" as we've already been over how the staff doesn't touch stuff...

Sooooo....what of this makes sense?

Wait, what? On this site? None of the staff on this website work for ANet. The CM's have a red name on the forum, but they do not have any other moderation rights than regular users do.

Not sure where you're getting your info from, but it's certainly not correct.

Guild Wars Guru is a fan site. What makes it more important than, say, incgamers?

EDIT: Also, learn to alt-tab. Have firefox open. Midclick on Guru bookmark. Bam, Guru's open.

It'll never happen - that would be a big dose of favouritism for one site.

Plus, you can always run Guild Wars in windowed mode. I do so pretty much all the time unless I'm in a particularly dark area of the game and need to adjust the brightness to see anything.

you don't need such a thing to get implemented in GW (and they won't do it)
but you can do it yourself (or at least anyone scripting/software programming literate).
Read keystroke and whenever you got this in your buffer :
/guru stuffs [enter]
/inc stuffs [enter]
you open your browser with right urls.
