Gamer Weekend please Anet?

It would be nice to have this again in the next few weeks. It has been 3 years since this event actually happened. They have never done this event again after the first time they introduced it in 2007. Lets have another crack at this please Anet, I am sure a lot of people would enjoy this and have a laugh.

It would give people an opportunity at finishing there lucky/unlucky and gamer titles, not to mention DA, RBR and Shing Jea Boardwalk for fun and frolicks!

What do you ladies and gentleman think, fancy one of these gamer weekends in the next few weeks?

Coming Friday: Gamer Weekend - 20 February 2007

From Noon PST on Friday, February 23, through 11:59 p.m. PST on Sunday, February 25, you can participate in three great activities: The Dragon Arena, the Shing Jea Boardwalk, and Rollerbeetle Racing. For each win you will reap rewards in the form of Victory Tokens, which you can then exchange for prizes in Shing Jea Monastery and the Great Temple of Balthazar. And of course you can work on your Gamer title, too. Join us this weekend for all the fun and games!

since the title is utterly useless and i dont see it being anything useful in gw2 so live it up now

/signed, but for the event to be in the late Summer (September?) As we have just had a weekend in Factions and the next one is in April, then there is nothing again there until the following Feb.

As they are never going to give Factions a week long event like the other areas have, then another in the middle of the empty months might be at least welcomed.

They really do need to do this more often.

Would make the gamer title actually quicker. Also it would be a fun weekend!

really considering all the double AB/JQ and all the other pvp weekends they( and abuse horribley) idk why they cant give this title some love.

i mean when you start getting repeats during the year of the same event( mostly pvp since its kind of restricted) why not throw this title into the mix?

im sure tons of ppl( myself included) would love a reason to work on this title( and during the times that its availbe ppl are often busy w/ other titles( lucky/unlucky, farming for a polar bear, Snowball dominece, getting tot bags, etc.)

so ill /sign anything thats gets this title some <3. /sign as many times as possible

We get:
- Canthan New Year: either January or February depending on the calendar.
- GW Anniversary: end of April.
- Dragon Festival: around 4th of July.

It seems that such an event is needed between end of September and end of November to have a more equilibrated year.

Dragon arena should be around at least one weekend per month as the best format in gw. It's actually a shame that it is somewhat fragile in regard to latency, and only happens simultaneous to 9-ring afk traffic...

Just DA/RBR wouldn't do shit for people with high gamer titles, CBrawl on the other hand...

Keep in mind that the gamer event also includes Boardwalk which people can work on there lucky/unlucky titles.

Another thing to keep in mind is that although RbR and DA doesent give you as many gamer points, Costume Brawl lasts for a week when its on, were as DA and RbR is just a couple of days and in my opinion most people enjoy DA and rbr plus the Boardwalk in combination rather then just one minigame, ie; Costume Brawl.

This way people get gamer and there lucky/unlucky titles to work with in one whole event, killing two birds with one stone.

As a side note, I almost feel that this thread deserves to be moved to Sardelac.

Why not just leave the Shing Jea Boardwalk open ALL the time?

Is there a reason why it isn't? I can't imagine ANet is worried about too many people maxing out their Lucky/Unlucky titles lol.

Absolutely agree that gamer points should be increased for both rbr and DA, rbr 1st place 10 gamer points and DA should be equal to that of Costume Brawl gamer wins, thats another thread entirely though.

I just want to see if the community feels there should be a gamer weekend and so far its been positive, I hope Anet sits up and takes notice about this request.

/signed. I'm all for this to be honest. I really want to work on the title (rank 4 right now), and any time I get to do that AND play Rollerbeetle at the same time is just awesome.

An occasional Gamer weekend would be brilliant

Even if they dont directly increase the point rewards for a win. I feel all the game should function like CB. Extra bonus points for consec wins.

I had a 20 win streak in DA over the event, but absolutley no bonus for that. Which kinda sucks.

Accompany the gamer weekend with double lucky and/or gamer points and I'm in.

Isn't that what the 3rd and 4th Anniversary events were about?
