Questions about Q8's

Hello My first question is do Q8 weapons, shields, offhands, ect..Drop from the z-chest? Somone in game told me they do but without seeing a SS i am very skeptical. So if anyone has a SS or could provide some kind of proof that would be much appreciated.

My next question also concerning q8's is. If they dont drop from the Z-chest do they only drop from monsters or can they be obtained from locked chests? I have played for almost 5 years and never seen one drop from anything.

My final question i guess is do they still drop? I have been told they do(although very rarely). I belive this but was just hoping someone could confirm. Thank you for you time.

I don't believe chests of any kind drop max weapons lower than q9.

Z-chest doesn't drop any weapon under req 9

Max req 8's don't drop anymore

Only way to get a max req 8 is to buy from someone

Max r8 weapons do still drop from monsters and keyed chests (ie Kurzick Chests, Locked Chests).

They DO NOT drop from end-chests (ie Fendi's Chest) or the Zaishen Chest.

Most r8 max drops are blue, although purples and golds still drop as well.

Ariena is correct; this dropped for me several months back, I think around June 2009 from a Kournan in the Rilohn Refuge mission in normal mode.

worth noting that q7 max items don't drop anymore (they may be close to max though, even as close as 1%/1 rating off), while q8 drops everywhere across the game. they're just rare.

sounds abit wierd that you claim to play allmost 5 years but never had a req8 drop-.-
as for your question, ive used over 1000 keys on z chest and never got a req8 item. req8 items drop from monsters, rarer to get em from chests (locked chest etc) imo.

Correction: locked chests that count for Treasure Hunter title (called high-end chests) CANNOT drop any req8 just like all kinds of endchests/zchest/hoh chest. EXCEPTION: Hard Mode locked chests in newbie areas - Ascalon, Shing Jea, Istan.

Do you have a source for this? I'm pretty sure many of the high-end Kurzick valuables (ie Echovald Shield, Amber Aegis, etc) are obtainable through chests in r8 form. It fits that similar chests (Luxon, Shiverpeak, Vabbi) would function the same? I can't say much for any of the more expensive chests (Forbidden, Phantom, etc).

Almost all existing r8 kurzick high-end golds have dropped before that dreaded 27.10.2006 update. And given how the nerf was done r8 drops are possible only from sources that were capable of dropping r7 before nerf and the chances of getting an r8 one drop are even lower than chance of getting r7 one before that update (from the same sources). And how many r7 Echovald Shields or Amber Aegis have you seen?

There ARE chests which should be able to drop r8 echovalds but they aren't Kurzick Chests.

I did /age and it has only been 49months. so more like just over 4years not 5.(my bad) I mostly H/H things and guess im not that lucky. I have played quite a bit (925 hours to be exact) but i guess all my q8 drops have gone to my loyal henchies!

Any other thoughts or input regaurding these questions is more than welcome
