Hey folks, I was just trying to get some input on good areas to farm material for consets. I have no shortage on bones, and I already have a couple of good places to farm feathers, but I wasn't sure about iron, or dust.

Any advice or tips would be greatly appreciated.

Also, do you think its more profitable to farm the materials for consets, or actually make the sets and sell them as a whole. I don't know how much a full conset usually goes for (never really paid any attention to them untill recently)

the last time i tried , it cost me roughly 8k (mainly cause of feathers) to make a conset (buying materials from trader) . only because i managed to sell it for 9k each did i make some money . prices for consets go around 8k.

My favorite place to farm feathers has to be Naphui Quater in HM.

For dust I buy great conchs+starfish focuses (blue 200g, grape 300g) in rata.....put measure for measure on them and salvage.

Iron..idk really...mainly I just salvage anything that looks like metal...lol

Full sets go for 8k BU alone goes for 4k

Dust: I think outside ToA is good. I'm not sure though.
Plant Fibers: Holdings of Chokhin (tons of plants) is good.
Bones: 55hp Monk GoK (Gates of Kryta) HM
Feathers: Jaya Bluffs NM

Raptor farm for dust

What you are looking for to drop are the Great Conches, blue, purple, or gold will work. put a Measure for Measure inscription on it and salvage it, it should produce 100+ dust. Also salvage the white ones, they also give a good amount of dust.

For Dust I'd go hidden city 600hp or FoW 600hp. No real Idea for Iron though.

Salvage inscriptions on shields (that have metallic sounding names) usually works. Tall Shield, Tower Shield etc.

like most ppl have already said:

Dust: rata sum. just salvage the conches for the dust.
feathers: i just go w/ my ele outside jaya buffs
iron: jsut vaetirr farm, you will get a bit of dust as well as iron
and for wood.. if u need where to farm that you havent been playing the game for over 10mins ;p

im fairly sure9not entirely so if im wrong dont flame me) that you dont need this for making consets. i may be wrong but im preety sure it wasnt part of the process i was doing

Plant fibers also drop alot from Dragon Mosses outside Saint Anjeka's Shrine (requires quest A New Escort from Braur Acadamy). They drop wood planks occassionally. I would suggest only farming dust, plant fibers, and feathers as the rest are cheap cheap cheap from the trader.


Feathers outside Jaya Bluffs in NORMAL MODE (almost anything works, take a hard left at the shrine), I found that SoS UW solo R/Rt or Rt/R works, pick up Feathered Crests and salvage, also get a fair bit of runes here

Plant Fibers outside Saint Anjeka's Shrine in NM or HM (HM if you want rare echovald golds, build is 15 Wilderness 12 Resto R/Rt Dryder's Defense, IAU, Dwarf Stability, Storm Chaser,VwK, Vengeful wep, QZ, optional, lay a QZ on the other side of the res shrine, hit Dwarven Stability, IAU and Dryder's Defense, longbow to pull a back group, all 3 should come, run back a bit so they wand u from out of spell range and hit VwK and Storm Chaser, maintain IAU VwK and Storm Chaser)

Dust I suggest Rata Sum or do UW/FoW and salvage the Dark/Demonic Remains (Rata is faster).

As for iron, bone, and wood, trader is 100-150g normally which is really cheap, just buy them, it will save you time and net you more money per hour spent

when u farm feathers or w.e..you can salvage like swords or shields to get iron

I'll try to get some screenshots That's what I do. Except I only put Measure for Meaure in gold Great Conches that are over about 350g merch value (without "show me the money"). The higher the merch value after ID'ing, the more dust will come out of it. 350g+ ones will salvage to over half a stack of dust.

Actually I do Raptor farming for all consumable materials except feathers:

Raptors drop a lot of Piranha hammers, some other hammer I forgot the name of, Greater Sage Blades, Stilettos, etc... gold ones with merch values of 350g or more will salvage to about quarter of a stack of iron with Measure for Measure.

Raptors drop loads of Saurian Bones, and each one salvages to 5-7 bones.

Check all non-white drops for "measure for measure" - salvage these for use on high-value Great Conches, Stilettos etc.

Feathers I solo farm Jaya Bluffs in normal mode. Loads of ways to do that. I used to use a VwK build, but it killed stuff too fast and I wasn't getting so many fathers/scalps. Now I use a spirit spammer - individual runs are slower, but the feathers/hour is higher.

OMG - im shocked that no1 has suggested for dust a place which has been covered several times on guru already - go outside toa and head down to the fogs - they drop dust and remnants ( salv into dust ) .
Farming them theres several ways and could be best to search on here but the one i use is rit spirit spammer .
On avg i can get easily between 50 an 100 dust per run which is say 15 mins or shorter.
Btw if fog farming take all drops an salv - i never used to bother as it was nm and usually nm drops are bad but here they are not too bad and fogs are just under lvl 20 so u can grab some extra materials via the runs.
Raptors for dust i find can be hit an miss as conches i seemed to get 1 or 2 in 10 runs which isnt worth the effort , iron i tend to farm from nightfall annoying kournans as the pendants also dalv into iron.

Lusciious - never buy materials from trader , if you need to buy the materials then buy off other players as it works out a lot cheaper - your always better off trying to farm as you will end up being better off and each 8k you make from a conset over 7k becomes profit plus anything else you make via the farming.The effort pays off in the long term

Wow thanks for all the feedback . I didn't know conchs salvaged into dust, so I'll definitely be doing that for my dust supply. I'll also try out the bogs that Spiritz suggested.

Yeah i figured i just needed to salvage "metal" stuff for iron lol.

For feathers I've found Nuphai HM and outside of LA HM (the tengu fields) do wonders for me and my SoS farmer .

What are plant fibers used for in a conset? Or wood? The wiki just listed: Armor of Salvation, Grail of Might, and Essence of Clarity. Am I missing a consumable somewhere?

Also, when it comes to both wood and plant fibers, I go outside Mihanu Township in HM, thats where I maxed my sunspear rank, but I also get an average of 50-100 fibers and wood each run (which takes about 15 min tops, and also gives you about 1k sunspear points. Just a little tidbit for anyone tired of the LB/SS farm in wastes )

For Iron i think dwarves are good, the Boxing dungeon is one place that comes to mind.

Raptors - bones/iron/dust

As far as conch M4M inscriptions, *AVOID* blues (lucky to get ~200g per inscription). Mainly do gold ones that are worth more than ~270g *clean*, and perhaps purple ones worth more than ~170g. I've salvaged gold ones worth ~420g into ~130 dust w/ M4M. I've also salvaged gold ones worth ~230g into ~50 dust w/ M4M...
