The PvP community sucks. It's seperated now that the only thing alive is Tombs and GVG.
The PvE community is, however, lovely. |
HA and GvG have been the only pvp worth mentioning for the past 4 years. this pve alliance battles and 4v4 buildwars crapfests goin on, eeew

Sometimes you can't help it if you suck at a game. You're build however, you can control. It sounds to me like you were setting yourself up to be flamed. IMO op needs to stop crying and learn to take a hint. If PvP is too "serious" for you I would be happy to direct you to Ascalon.

bad players playing ranger or war = sucks to be teamed with
bad players playing ezpz123 hex spammers/blindbots = youll never know the difference
theres effective bars my dog could play, bad players should stick to those to uhh... 'hone their skillz' while not being a burden to teammates.

If you call PvP too serious you either think you're really good (wether you are or not) or you had to learn it the hard way and therefore can't stand anyone else learning in a more kind way.
I was (and prolly am again as i haven't played in ages) a true noob and learned form some experienced and decent to good players. Even though I probably used the most noob-like builds they told me with a normal attitude other things would be better. That's also a way of letting noobs grow into the game and become better instead of flaming everyone away.
Saying people shouldn't play PvP if they can't handle that attitude is simply ridiculous, as if PvP is some kind of hardass underground scene where you have immense pressure and need a thick skin to survive.
To the threadstarter: if you really want to learn about PvP and become a better player you should start looking for a newplayer-friendly PvP oriented guild. They are able to tell you in a decent way what is a good combination and if they are somewhat decent skilled they can and will even tell you why.
I think with any MMO you'll have a few jerks who linger in your experience and tarnish the larger 'community'.
If you're worried about being called a newb, just head over to pvx wikia and download one of many cookie cutter builds. Then you'll be just like everyone else. But sadly no longer a special unique snowflake falling from a winter sky

I made a pvp only charcter after giving up on pve because it got boring playing on my own..... i made a W/N and everybody calls me a noob and tells me to leave....

If you are random 'shitter', noone would bother telling you those things.
Post us your bar and what you do in battle, we can help. That is, if you want to learn.

Alright guys, don't start flaming and harrasing each other and doing the whole "PvP is better than PvE" and vice versa. We have enough of that already on these forums. Grow up seriously.
Basically to OP is this. Find a guild that does PvP that would be willing to help you out. Everyone has to start somewhere.
Do some JQ and FA for practice. Since it doesn't really matter what you are doing there, at least it gives you a sort of feel for Player versus Player combat.
Going from PvE-PvP isn't easy. They are two completely different games basically. So there is no comparision of the two. It is all just what you prefer to do.
Good luck on going PvP and hopefully you have fun.

I feel your pain.
When I first got the game I got a W/Mo through searing at level 5 and joined a pug hoping folks would explain the game and help noob. All I got was called a F***ing noob and kicked. Happened in 3 different qroups I joined all the same day, and twice again the next day.
People don't make suggestions or try to help at all. The just swear at you and then kick you out. Seems to me like if you see a level 5 warrior in Ascalon with no titles you can expect him/her to be a noob.
All I play anymore is PVE with H/H.

Your build has no skill to increase attack speed (IAS). For any warrior, that is the pure basis of a skillbar in PvP. Without IAS, your damage, and with that your usefulness, drops significantly.
Your build has no skill to increase movement speed (IMS). Any smart opponent will try to run away from you. You're missing out on a lot of damage if you cannot catch up.
Your build spreads attributes too thin. Going 11/11/7/5 Is just an overall bad idea.
Your build uses a (pretty weak) secondary elite. Warriors have way better elites, that pack a lot more damage. You're just gimping yourself here.
All in all, your build is horrible. Take a look at commonly used warrior builds and go from there. And please refrain from the whole "but I want to run a non-cookiecutter build, I'm not like all those PvXwiki noobs", because being unique doesn't make you useful.
PvP is about results, you'll need good builds if you want to get some results when you lack experience. Bad build + no experience is just the fast track to utter failure, disappointment and in the end, you'll just give up because of the "unfriendly community".
don't worry
the GW community isn't like this, they're not even judging you they're instantly dismissing your build as bad but don't let that put you down! even in PvP you can be just as good as anyone else with any build. if you want a friendlier community try hanging out in kamadan or follow the blade radio crew (tune into blade radio to know where they are) they're a load of friendly people. unfortunatley in PvP most people care about winning rather than being a community but there are still nice people here
