Armbrace prices = ridiculous?

It seems to me that until recently, armbrace prices had been fairly steady in the ~45e range (give or take). Since ecto was going for 22 or 23/100k, this put the price of an arm at roughly 200k.

Now I'm seeing people spamming WTS arms for 50e (not sure if they're getting that, but I've seen sales for 47-48e), despite the fact that ecto have gone way up - ~17/100k. This puts the price of an armbrace at nearly 300k.

Does this make any sense to anyone? Is it just power-traders trying to take advantage of high ecto prices, or have arms suddenly gotten more scarce? Basically - what the hell?

In the high end market, you can do whatever you damn well plz with armbrace prices. Its partially due to people trying to make maximum return on them...its has little to do with ectos, but enough that its understandable why people are upset. Armbrace price does not and never has correlated with ectos...it is practically set, whether ectos are 4k or 10k(lets hope they dont get back up there...though I would take advantage myself.)

Yeah, you'd think that it'd take less ectos to reach the crazybutt prices, not more. I don't get it. Greedy people are greedy.

Yeah, it's crazy. I wanted to buy an armbrace for a wep. Looks like I'll be waiting awhile.

There is no set price for Ambraces, in ecto. So, if there was an unlimited money cap (going above 100k) the price of the Ambrace would jump up because ectos went up? Oh yes, perfect sense...

There are no "set" prices for anything.

Folks, go to DOA and buy gems. A Gemset is approx 15k and you need 15 which is 225k. If ectos are 6k it costs 37.5 ectos to make an armbrace and then you can sell for 45-47. Big profit.

Best bet OP is to buy gems and then clear to the Spirit of Truth on your own. You'll save some cash if you are savvy and most importantly patient.

As said, no set prices for anything. With the effort some people put into getting them braces, they can charge what they want. Besides, if you looking at High End items, chances are, you can afford them. If not, you cant really complain.

meh, armbraces associate armbraces with a set ecto price 45-50 ecto. People don't associate them to be about 200k. therefore if ecto value goes up, armbrace value goes up. armbrace value is not independent of ecto value unfortunately for those wishing to buy tormy weapons. you would think they would be seperate, but if the people selling armbraces for 45-50e can get there asking price, there is nothing you can do. oh wells.

I got my tormented weapon for the HoM, don't care for more, traders can get stuffed.

Agree. If I can sell my armbraces for 48-50e then hey good for me. I don't have to accept, let alone think about the lowball offers of 42-45e.

main thing is ppl are still paying for them. rant all you want as long as ppl are buying ppl will keep trying to get more and more out of it.

Eh. High end, power trading, sell high as you can, etc.

I've always been kind of "ehhhh" on tormented weapons. On the one hand, the shield and staff look kind of nice, on the other hand, there are better-looking items out there, for a lot less effort.

Folks just go buy gems for the cost of like 38e! Do not buy another armbrace again!

well when UW wasnt nerf armbrace prices were going up anyway.
looks like theres alot of interested buyers and not enough suppliers.
before the CoP nerf i found it hard to sell armbraces for 43-45e people back then were asking for 30-40e.
but now i feel like me and other people who sell armbraces are in a good position to sell at a higher price at the end of the day its supply and demand look in DoA no one does DoA anymore except guild/alliance groups most pugs i've been to are too slow or fail.

Agree again. The supply of armbraces is down and the demand is on the rise. Wont be too long until 50e is on the lower end of selling them.

This weekend I bought 3 armbraces for no more than 45e each.

Just name your price and good sellers will answer.

100k + 80e or more even.
i swear ill be lolz hard and hitting DoA big time.

I'm already hitting DoA hard. Thankfully I have a good Guild and Alliance and we do DoA probably 3-4 runs a day. And if SF does get nerfed, I'll be sitting pretty with plenty of armbraces hopefully. Lol.

@Ghost Dog-Good for you, some sellers will sell for less if they don't care much for lots of profit, but someone will not budge and stay firm at 48e not a gold piece less.
