Why is my guildwars gaming showing like this on mac?

Hello all,

I am faced with a problem. I own an iMac and recently installed guildwars using crossover games. I payed for it. Guild wars runs perfectly and smoothly however the graphics are a problem. I used a copy of my dat file from my windows computer and transfered it to my mac.

Here is a picture of the graphics problem. It shows each outpost as cloudy and hazy yet on the logon screen graphics a good except for the characters having a slightly darkish hue to them. And I dont believe this is a problem with iMac because a person on youtube has a video of his guildwars game on crossover and it looked fine.

Are you running it in -dx8 -noshaders mode?
Im not too sure about non-windows settings, but I think that might help

I just tried that, didn't work. The system I am using is a iMac on mac osx 10.5.6, 2.16 ghz intel core 2 duo, 2 gb ddr2 ram, Nvidia gefore 7600 gt, 256 mb Vram

Tip, you should invest in a copy of XP, or Windows 7 and use bootcamp for GW. I also have an iMac which I've played GW on for about 3 years now.

Specs are

November 2006 Model
2.33 GHz Core 2 Duo 4 MB L2 Cache
Radeon x1600 256 MB
2 GB Ram
Running Windows XP SP2 via bootcamp (native windows boot)
OSX 10.4.9

GW gets like 30-50 FPS

Crossover is just plain failz0rz IMO.

I also lol'd at the ranger looking for group in RA..

Lack of information leaves me a little helpless here, but I can try.

This could be one of the many reasons you are seeing this. Windows and Macs are different when it comes to files like these - I suggest a complete reinstall of Guild Wars if you haven't already.

You can go to the following link to re-download the Guild Wars Client. Download the Guild Wars Client.

If it isn't the gw.dat file from Windows, you'll have to check and alter a few things, such as...
-Latest, and up-to-date video drivers.
-Video card settings if you're able to access them.
-In-game gamma. (Yes, simple, but this could be your problem.)
-Version of DirectX.

There are other issues to look at, but I say check these out first.

Looks to me like your post-process effects have gone haywire.

Yea, that looks like it. Try disabling post-process effects, and/or disabling reflections and shadows. Wait for vert. synch might help too, not sure on that one though.

10.5.6? Please make sure you update your computer while you are at it. Your Leopard OS is a little out of date.
