i was cheated, what can i do?

here is the thing,

someone offered me 100k+1e to buy my 20zkey.

first time, he showed me 100k, then i asked him what about 1e?

then, he changed his offer to "100g" + 1e, i saw he plus 1e, then i accepted.

i want him get punished, what can i do?

anet didn't put the obnoxious red "THE OFFER HAS BEEN CHANGED PLEASE DOUBLE-CHECK BEFORE CLICKING ACCEPT" text there just for shits and giggles, ya know.

if you're too poor to even pay attention, those 20 zkeys must've really made you go bankrupt.

You need to remove the names from your post or you're going to get in trouble.

Here are your options:

(1) Submit a support ticket on GW.com. Include the screenshot you took and ask that the other player be banned for scamming you. You will probably not get your money back, but the player may get banned. Make sure and ask that they check the chat log.

(2) Ask Gaile over on GWW if there's anything special you can do. She tends to be very helpful now that she's moved to support. It's worth a try.

(3) Forget about it. You got scammed. Nothing's probably going to get your money back...and there's a slim-to-none chance the other guy will get banned. I recommend trying the support ticket and then just forgetting about it. Not much you can do after that anyway.

i was going to ask if you had a screenshot! i'm happy you do, go to www.guildwars.com and click on support> send them a copy of the screenshot and detail of what happened. they dont look kindly on scammers especially when you have proof... do it as soon as you can tho mate. go get on it LOL and good luck

No name dropping. Other than that, nothing you can really do. Just farm up said ectos and look closely next time.

Firstly you need to delete your second post as it is against forum rules to post other players names, secondly as Gift3d has already said you should have paid attention,the second the other guy failed to put up the full offer you should have been suspicious,as for what you can do sadly theres not a whole lot you can do , you could try to send support a ticket because your screenshot shows the other guy making a offer of 100k and a ecto then giving you 100g and a ecto but to be honest i wouldn't hold my breath if i was you,you almost certainly won't get anything back.All you can do is count it as a expensive lesson learned.

Won't "(3)" just encourage people to scam? On every trade they could just give low offer and i hope buyer would be reckless enough to click. If he click's, well done, you scammed him, money is yours (you're jerk also). If he's careful you'll just say "lol wrong offer,lag,w/e , offer right amount and trade normally.

He changed it and you accepted it, your fault, get over it

One, you're most likely going to be asked to edit your posts to take out the name.

Two, you've been caught in one of the oldest tricks in trading. I'm sorry for you, but it does highlight the importance of checking and double checking the trade window before hitting accept.

Things to look out for when trading, all shown here.
- Changing the offer
- Trader set to away
- Over inflated offer

I doubt there will be much ANet support can do, but you'll have to ask them
