So the thread was closed and could not make any comment there but here's some food for thought.
I've never actually done the UWSC myself because I don't have a sin, but reading that thread made me immediately think: *e-sport*.
Are people making an e-sport out of UWSC and are setting records and trying to get after the records and get better and better? Might it be that GW managed to become an e-sport to some extent in the least expected area: PvE, instead of doing so in PvP?
And is this "PvE turning into an e-sport" trend only possible when ANet does not mess around with their nerfing stick giving players enough time and consistency to get used to a build and a zone to the point where slowly getting better becomes being a pro at it and therefore having better and better performance, just like sports? Would this have happened in the past as well only if ANet would have used their nerf stick a lot less often?
And lastly if people go for records and such in the least expected place apparently (PvE), doesn't that mean: they have *fun* playing a sport and being better/the best?
And even: shouldn't ANet harvest that and actually support/implement a system where UW clears are timed and there would be a best-ever, best last-month, best-last week ladder? Would that be fun?
I'm not trying to take sides in a "nerf SF" discussion, but I just wondered if the above have been considered when talking about that nerf and I also very much doubt (like I've always had) the utility of the nerf system in general for PvE.
