Why is there a limit to friends list

Hey so why is there a limit to the amount of friends allowed on friend list? I had to start deleting old ones to add new ones

Well who can remember more than 100 friends anyway...

The limit is actually 50 and there is a limit because there has to be a limit on everything. Server space is finite you know - and if anything ingame was unlimited, you can be sure somebody would find a way of crashing the server by overloading it.

Why the limit is 50 I don't know, but I'm sure that things like this are apportioned in some non-arbitrary way

So it was 50 I thought that a text name would take up like 1 kb or less space thanks though.

You mean you've found more than 10 jerks worthy of your ignore list? Wow, you must be unlucky.

Actually, I never even knew the friends list had a limit.
I found the cap on the ignore list within a few months of playing. I think Anet was a bit over-optimistic on the number of idiots/spammers/racists playing; adding another 40 slots to the ignore list would make it a little closer to reality.
