.......or is the Galrath/Kessex Peak quest at Lion's Arch excessively and agonizingly long?

I've had to quit due to time constraints and lose all my progress.
(yeah, I know I'm whining again)

We, to the powers that be, (or at least I) need a rest stop somewhere in between.

Ahh, one of the coolest quests in the game.

Make your way to Temple of the Ages and use that as your starting point. More info here. GL.

Nearly all of the Prophecies quests are extremely long like this.

It is long and can be challenging. I just did it from Toa.

Yeah, we made it halfway past the Black Curtain and then the crew and I suffered a painful beating and unceremonious death at the hand of hourdes of minotaurs and another large group of beasts whose name escapes me at the moment.

I was nearly there but couldn't stay on and now must begin again in LA.

Darnit! (pardon my French)

Someone needs a run to ToA.

Seriously, feel free to PM me your build(s) and I can give some advice on how to deal with those rancid mobs.

Long, enjoyable quest that takes you to beautiful areas you wouldn't visit in the game otherwise if you just follow the missions... what's not to like? Like people before me said, it's best done from ToA, which also houses a few quests and is an end location for one quest that starts from another "forgotten" location: Fishermen's Haven (not to mention access to FoW and UW).

I never understood the quest. I had to have gotten it when I was still new to the game and it took me like 2-3 year until I finally felt like walking 10 miles into the wildernesss with no outpost stops (from TOA) to kill some idiot and get crap rewards. Btw, galrath's slash is a sword attack named after a guy with an axe...gg.

Yes it was long on the other hand getting the items for Nickolas was easy as there were plenty of mobs to kill.

And of course there is always next weeks quest wherever that is.

Beginning to think about dedicating a character as presearing to visit Nickolas there too.

Most people take the quest on their first character because they get excited about the 4k XP. Whether they complete it or not, they seldom take the quest on any other character.

But, as said, everything in Prophecies is long. This was to allow you to garner the XP needed to boost your levels. Though, actually, I don't think the quests in Factions and Nightfall are much shorter.

Good luck and have your party get to Temple of Ages first.

That quest hasn't mattered since EoTN. EXP can be gained far more quickly out there, and the item reward is just plain garbage, pretty much like the rest of the Proph quests.

I agree /w everyone else that said this is a quest that you take on your first char and never do again.

If it wasn't for the skill quests, there would be no point in starting a char in proph IMO.

Yep, get to ToA and start from there. Once you get to the place where your party got whupped (I beleive you were facing Minotaurs and Fen Trolls and those tree thingies), the key is to take it slowly and watch the patrol routes before taking anything on. It's easy for newbies to get swamped in that spot.

<SARCASM>After all, everyone knows that the story doesn't matter, only the rewards.</SARCASM>

But, yeah, the Galrath quest is *NOT* worth it. Especially not when you first get it (level 10-12, usually). Hell, even with a level 20 player, 3 level 20 Heroes, and 4 Henchidiots out of the Temple of Ages it's a very nasty quest...

I WAS trying to get to the ToA but I guess I should have started from Divinity Coast instead of LA.

Now that would make more sense, no?

Sounds like you need to learn how to pull. If you stand in that area, you're putting your party in the middle of a million minotaur patrols, and you will get overwhelmed.

Basically just get a longbow or flatbow and find a safe place (somewhere where there are no patrols, though it needs to be somewhat close to the patrols). Flag your henchmen at that point, move ahead and attack one of the minotaur patrols. Once they start heading toward you, move back to your henchies so that the mob is isolated from the rest of the patrols. You are then safe from being overwhelmed by everything else. Keep in mind the mobs won't chase you forever (they'll break off eventually), and if this happens you need to move the henchies safe spot closer.

1. Tyria is long and tedious like everyone else pointed out.
2. Blahblahblah get used to it, blahblahblah.

I honestly find the long and tediousness of Tyria a lot more amusing then nightfall. Least it's not a quest that has a dozen of other quests that branch off. AKA: Command Post.

The only thing nice about that quest was the reward for it is a furious axe with a perfect mod, which CAN be salvaged from the axe. Back when weapon mods were worth something it was kinda a nice profit.
