Pet names

Well, I.ve seen a topic about characters names, so Why not starting
with the pet names.

I have a Moss spider atm as pet, And I calld it Dreuzel.
Not that it is meaning anything, I just couldn't think of anything els at that
time.

So how do you call your pet?

Ijsbolleke, as in, 'little ball of ice', for a White Moa.

Dreuzel is Muggle in English, by the way.

Ahaha, wondering when this would come up.

Since my Ranger's name is Japanese (Jiyu Sakurai), I figured I'd give her pets Japanese names too.
So, for her first pet (a plain, orange tiger), I chose Momiji, "Autumn Leaves". It fit the color, I thought.
When I replaced him with a white tiger, I picked Yuki, "Snow" (iirc?).
Yes, I read Fruits Basket, haha, though neither of those is the name of the tiger (never got that far). I just liked the names, and the meanings fit the colors.

My Ele's (Jennarose Mashaba, not my other Ele, the rarely-played Hineli Ahnenjei) pet's name was spur-of-the-moment: Meshoka. It was seemed to click with the pet (the Melandru's Stalker from Pre, haha), and it sounded like it would fit her Elonian ancestry.

My Mez is the last one to have a pet (except the Para, whose crane is as-yet-unnamed). She finally managed to tame a bear in Pre with help from my GL's permapre ranger, and while she doesn't use it (she's /N), I love it. Since her name (Medea the Younger) is from Greek mythology, I thought I'd pick a Greek name for the bear as well. Naturally, I went with Callisto, the nymph who was turned into a bear by Artemis.

EDIT: Haha I totally forgot about Gui's pet! It's a Jingle Bear, and I named it Fu Mei, which I believe means lucky something but I have forgotten exactly what. Anyway it was going to be Gui's name but it was taken when I made her, so instead I recycled it twice, once for her mother in my backstory and once for her bear. The bear gets called FuFu mostly, though, because it sounds silly.

Snow Wolf named "Menchi," my Ranger's emergency food supply. Give yourself a cookie if you get the reference.

Imwithstupid is still my favorite.

My perma-pre has a warthog named "Bacon"
My old Ranger had a pet bear named "Monte" - In honor of the University of Montana's mascot of the same name. Go Griz!

Named my Rainbow Phoenix "Saikadelix"

My pet raven is Old One Eye, not the best name but I like it.
Best I've seen is Durchfall ^^

My main chars petname atm is Coldtooth and it depends on what kind of pet it is (in this case a white tiger)

For all my other chars my pets get named after people in my alliance (I'm alliance leader) in honor really

names like:
Magical xxx
Mystical xxx
Royal xxx
Luring xxx

where the prefix mostly is given out for there character or ingame thing that happend and where xxx is there common used callname.

I named my rainbow pheonix "Big Pecker" kinda fits really

My pets are either named their original name (ie. removing the hearty) or Chocolate because i love chocolate cake.

Mine gets called Cannon Fodder or Tweety, depending on my mood. And often on the pet speicies I have.

I don't have a ranger. My ranger heroes have pets, but I always keep the default name.

Someone I know IRL always names his pet "Green Items," lol I don't know why. He's either way too obsessed w/ green items or he thinks the drop rate will increase whenever his pet bites the boss

I tried to name my pet but was told it contained disallowed words.

I call mine Bob. All of them. Guess i'm just lazy

For a long while i had a lion or lioness, called Ingonyama. It means lion in some sort of african language and I ripped it of 'Circle of life' where there's some african chanting at the intro.

Then I had a mountain eagle, called Rocky, after my 15y old lovebird-pet I have irl.

And currently I got a rainbow phoenix, first called Rocky again, but nowadays Jean Grey. X-Men, think no further explanation is needed.

My monk + her monk heroes all carry a flamingo around, called Pink =P.

Best one I've ever seen was a Ranger called In Need Of Backup / Backup Needed / Need Backup / Wheres Mah Backup or whatever and his pet was named "Backup".

My Black Moa is named Obsidian. Kinda inspired by Onyx (Zho's pet) I guess.

Pets names are usually nothing serious. Injokes between friends usually. Warthogs get called Sir Bacon. Melandru's stalkers usually get called something lore-y because I'm a huge dork.

I have a white wolf on my Ranger named Amaterasu.
And a Black Moa on my Elementalist named Spike. :]
