My A/E Glacial Stone Farmer

The thing that a lot of you will probably ask is 'But the keg bomber is so brilliant, why not just use that?' Well, i found that the keg bomber gives bad loot, for example: maybe 1 gold and a few white items. So i thought i'd find a way to get more loot out of it. After some research, i found that killing them one at a time gave you a lot more loot. Sliver Armor, incredibly powerful, but only 3 damage vs a Spectral Vaettir?! Ok, so let's see how i can improve the power of this. Eventually i came to a conclusion, it is in this build, the AoE Sliver Perma Sin.


Skill Template: OwZTkWP9ZS6jHRnJbYJiHKVQVEA

The Skills are:
Glyph of Swiftness
Deadly Paradox
Shadow Form
Crystal Wave
Tenai's Crystals
Sliver Armor
Earth Attunement
Drunken Master

What about energy management? I use a Zealous +5 Energy +20% Enchanting scythe for energy, it is truly brilliant.

But how do i use this?
1. Run from Longeye's Ledge to Jaga Moraine (Shadow Form isn't needed so just keep Drunken Master as your stance), this should take 2-3 minutes.

2. Aggro the northern group of Spectral Vaettirs, there is a spot where they do not scatter, as shown in this picture.



3. Use Crystal Wave and Tenai's Crystals until they are at low hp. Use your scythe to gain energy. The picture below shows the hp you are aiming for.



4. Now you use Glyph of Swiftness before Sliver Armor. This will take about 10 hits to kill 1 Spectral Vaettir, this will give you good loot because they are dying one at a time.

5. When only about 5 are left, just use Crystal Wave or Tenai's Crystals to finish them off.

6. Loot and enjoy. The picture below shows what you can get, although this was a very lucky run, you get at least 2-3 golds each run!



So how long will this take?

EDIT: People seem to think that the picture of loot is what you get always, but that was a very lucky run, as stated previously, after about 25 runs of doing this, i found that i got at least 2 golds each run.

to Continue ur first Sentance there, : The Keg guy was Changed, he only gives 1 keg every few seconds now, so it would take ages to kill them.

I used to use the e/me. the damage was like, 2x Crystals, Sliver, Obby, Swiftness, SFA, Mantra, StoneStriker i think if i remember correctly. but you needed like runes against earth damage too because if you dont you take like 1-2 damage each time and it adds up since you got no heals.

I'm making a video later I have been doing this on ele for quite some time....slightly diff build ofcourse.....but I don't see why you can't aggro the south group...they are exactly the same. No reason (other than time, maybe?) that you can't get them too and end up with 60 kills.

my build was GoS, ObFlesh, Stoneflesh aura, Arcane Echo, Sliver, Crystal wave, tenais crystals, and mantra.

Oh, also, I just used blessed insigs since you always enchanted.

Well u could always use the same wall u use with the burning build to keep the south group from scattering?

When I use the E/Me, I use Crystal Wave/Teinai's Crystals/Arcane Echo/Glyph of Swiftness/Obsidian Flesh/Stoneflesh Aura/Mantra of Earth/Storm Djinn's Haste (to speed up running). That build kills the entire group at the same time, and the drops are consistently just as good as the picture above. Oh, and I don't have to worry about finding a wall to hold them, because they never scatter since there's no Sliver Armor.

Nobody has ever definitively proven that you get more drops one at a time. There have been tons of thread proving it both ways. I'll enjoy the fast AoE bomb instead of dealing with the problems of Sliver. The only reason for doing this would be solely because you specifically want your assassin to gain the Norn points (or you don't have an ele)

I admittedly have not tried this on an A/E, so I'm willing to give it a try. However, I've done the other to the point that my ele is almost max Norn without doing anything but the main storyline (and the book went to Asura). So I know that one quite well.

Let me understand this completely. In HM, you kill 36 vaettir in 5 minutes, then re-zone/re-peat - for ~3-4 golds a run (gold drop rate seems way high, but W/E)?

I'd rather 100LOLz/MoP 33+ raptors every minute, for essentially the same (arguably more in the long run) number of golds. Maybe it pays off given mesmer tomes instead of assassin, but the lack of elite tomes/gold scrolls and chests makes me cringe (and I already have 2 stacks of each assassin/mesmer tomes). Glacial stones are about worthless - I have ~3 stacks, and can't even sell 100 for 5K anymore, so I just use then for alt gloves when I need re-specs.

FWIW, I'd recommend dropping the dwarf run skill for something like EBSoH, might drop the run times by 1 minute or more (max sweets with 1 cupcake/run instead, if you really think that saves any time ~15 seconds?)...

Lots of unvalidated arguments in this thread, about more drops when killing 1 at a time, and bringing leeches... Very much unsubstantiated, and certainly not one way or the other, based on my own experience...

2. I am just going by what ive seen, i tried about 10 runs of keg bombing... got crap loot, done about 20 of this and each time got at least 3 golds

Which is why I'll continue to run A/Me, Radiation Field, Ether Nightmare, Cry of Pain with wall blocks for consistent 4-5 minute runs (typically 4 unless I salvage, etc.). Though I'm not arguing that OP's is a similarly effective build, I really think it comes down to preference.

Still, options are good, so grats on putting this together =).
