How much care is actually put into Guild Wars?

The community is consistently fed the cold shoulder to every need. The GvG ladder K value has yet to be changed, despite the entire community pushing for it, and constant "promises" that it will be here. Skill updates are consistently sub-par. Mind Blast and Bloodspike are unchanged. Skill updates are delayed and some are never tested even once.

Last month's update: simply using Heart of Shadow caused everyone to disconnect from the game.
This month's update: simply equipping "Brace Yourself!" causes your client to crash.

The vast majority of skill descriptions that are incorrect (lol, Well descriptions changed to the abandonded update from last month?). And the bugs.. (VoR 2-packet damage, Signet of Binding no spirit effect, just to name a few)

I understand ArenaNet is "working on Guild Wars 2", but please remember that a proper balance update will result in zero balance updates in the future. Do it right the first time, and you won't really need to do it again. The problem now is that there's just failure upon failure upon failure. Content updates are nice, but without proper balance updates, content updates get plowed through in weeks (PvE is now "super-easy mode" more than ever - all PvE is missing now is a "click button receive victory" skill). Some game companies offer quality over quantity. Some offer the reverse. ArenaNet has shown us they don't offer either.

It is a bit too much rant for people NOT to disagree.

Nevertheless, you have a point.

Like I keep saying, there's probably some behind the scenes complication.
Linsey and Co. aren't doing all this just to be assholes.

It's interesting how the players themselves are the beta testers and not the actual development team. It doesn't matter if they fix it, or if it takes 24 hours to fix serious bugs. The fact that the update was delayed a week and is still basically un-usable, is pretty atrocious.

Even though it's perfectly possible that these bugs did not occur during testing? That does happen.

You have only Devs working on it.. and i think they added a 3rd one recently... For this update there was 4 +Izzy that came by to help....THats alot of work...Once again will it kill you to play find a bug report it and they will get it fixed within the day? if not hours as someitmes it happens?...You just piccking up on the things that some one else found and complain about it. Which is perfectly fine....Just the phrase "They dont Care" is way over the board and completely emotional on your part for what ever reason.. Saying They didnt see a few bugs due to human error would be much better statement but then again i dont complain.. if they found it and didnt do anything then i would but withitn a day they found them with help of us players and are already on the fix is not only the right thing to do buit just shows that they care more and more as we go on

EDIT:http://www.guildwarsguru.com/forum/s...php?t=10382092

JUST PROVES MY POINT>> I LOVE IT WHEN the moment i say somehtgin the Comunity Relations right saying the same thing as i do =) Anythign else you wish to say that implies "THEY DONT CARE"?

i think the balance updates are nice actually , but imo the bad things are crashes when adding a skill (omg) and XTH postponing 3 weeks

Everything in this update was a waste of time except for the few necromancer hexes, mesmer hex, and Ether Prism. The random rit buffs/nerfs, and pve section is just a waste of time and doesn't add something to the game or solves any problems.

If they just did anything against bspike or mb spam it would be 'just' fine.

Maybe if there wasn’t a couple million gimmick kids looking to exploit the newest skill update the second it came out they wouldn’t have to update so much.

Maybe if ANet came up with a game design that doesn't reward abuse of the drop system, people wouldn't exploit updates so much.

Truly "good" farms always have a limited duration, so people look for a leg up whenever they can get it.

Don't care how many people are working on what, if you promise an update that's going to be a week late in order to work out kinks and still have it screw up for 90% of the community, that's the most amateur crap i've ever heard in my life. That's like the same principle people get fired for.

Because of that alone i'm growing to think that the effort being put into GW is next to nothing. Kind of upsetting though that anything new will either be poorly done or just plain bad.

I do not remmeber Anet promising us Updates at all regarding skills.. Conten yes i do but skills not at all. Sorry can you provide a link. Id Apreciate it..

Now when you say 90%.. were did you get that number?....Can you do better i mean you speak as if you are desighner and a developer and it seems you know much about the process.. why dont you apply?

Now when you say poorly done...you mean all the bugs?.. I think this is the biggest update with that muhc bugs.. The 4th anniversary was big as well and didnt have that much bugs in it.... As i said.. human error in inevitable.. we are not machines we dont program perfectly, dont desighn perfectly, and definetly can loose track of time.. on top of other factors....You do know they are just labor they dont work on the game 24/7

Just a normal work day.... 9-5... they do bother taking over time.... and they take over time for 2 reason \
A. they are really in need of money
B. They enjoy their job and doing their best to provide what we asked for...

And this update was mostly it

And now go to the thread that Regina just made.. and there are 2 more things we asked for that are already being implemented and then Say' THEY DONT CARE" -_-

And besides that...There are time for the crashes in which what happens on the test servers and the live servers are different due to a number of different things. That said the Skill descriptions are their fault and I will 100% blame them for that....But I'm a forgiving person.

well, i've learned something that the MMORPG game's life span is just around 5 years and shorter, so chose and play the best one. have fun then lets it go

As a Software Developer, I can confidently say you have no clue what you're talking about... It's obvious by the bugs making it through that ANET is NOT giving the attention they should to GW1 development anymore and are releasing sub-par code into production.

Will humans make mistakes and cause bugs? Yes.

The problem I have is the type of bugs making it through and the frequency. At each stage, in the life cycle bugs should be getting trimmed and changes should be thoroughly regression tested.

And I know your next argument will be cash flow and staffing... They know how much their budget is as well as their resource schedule so they should be able to plan their releases to better match those.

Just because Anet doesn't want to listen to some of the suggestions people have doesn't mean they don't care, it means they do care, they care about the actual realistic aspect of the game and it's players. Listen to some of the things people post here suggesting for the game.....some of most ridiculous sh*t I have ever seen.

What is wrong with you? This game is these people's livelyhood, do you really think that they don't care? JUst because you don't agree with what they do, doesn't mean they aren't trying to do what they think is best for GW1.

well, it's either they don't care, or they are just incompetent. those are the only two explainations for the amount of bugs we've been getting.
