How was Ursan's nerfed?

I wasn't playing when Ursan was being run by everyone, so I'm curious what did they do to nerf it? Even in its present form it still looks pretty powerful...

Is it still viable in any way, or did whatever they change basically make the skill completely unusable?

They changed ursan strike to slashing damage there for reducing a lot of dps, and they made it so it cannot be upkept permanently.

All of the dmg is not armor ignoring anymore, and the duration of the skill use 2 depend on your energy as you have -2 energy degen, so you had the ability to keep it up for long periods of time, way more than 60 secs, with the use of high energy sets and zealous weapons.

The funniest part of it's nerf is that it resulted in even faster speedclears
I kinda wish they would unnerf it since the nerf is pointless now

yeah, even with it nerfed, u can speed clear DoA, UW, FoW, Urgoz, Deep with permas and cryers or perm asian teams. all the nerf of ursan did was limit it to these types of teams soley which require some extra coordination and does not encourge pug play. Ursan wasn't as bad as these teams and was actually capable of putting just some random people together to get shit done. Not to mention, it was a bloody fun skill =D. but w/e, if anet thinks its detrimental to the already failing economy or something else, meh ;-)

I still do think that this is the most overlooked aspect of what Ursan really meant for the community... Don't forget, they also made it so that all positive effects (stances, enchantments, shouts, etc.) end as soon as you enter the blessing now. Before, people used to use the long-lasting mesmer stances to have even more damage reduction/energy gain, but that's now all a thing of the past.

Zquests are much better for pugs then any ursans.

1 thing also to mention about pre nerf ursan was altho it got ppl into pugs it also meant a lot of pugs wanted high ranking ursans which affected in a way the pugs.
Say 1/4 or ursans were high ranking ( r7 + ) and rest were below that and because they were below they were often left out.
It also affected anyone tryin to rep farm norn as again groups wanted players with a certain norn rep - bit of a catch 22 situation.

ursan's still good for something! farming zho in norn tourny, otherwise that recharge is meh.

They made a recharge on it, so when it dies out, u have to wait a minute for a recharge
