Warning To All Farming Fame Services

Another fricking ridiculous ban. GJ A.net on continuing to lose respect from your player base. I wonder if this is a move in policy or just a particular GM being retarded. If the latter, that GM needs to be fired/un-GM'ed/killed or whatever ASAP.

after 2 weeks trying to get my account back i was wondering to post this warning to prevent banning ppl for this service.(There is no warnings about this bannable service on guru)

Fame farming means that they are still participating, it's not throwing a game. If they paid the other team to lose then fine, ban. But they didn't so there's nothing wrong. Why not ban for leeching gold capes too?

To avoid this is a very simple thing.

EARN YOUR POINTS LIKE REAL PLAYERS.

Good to see Anet clamping down on people who think they can just buy these titles, why can't they just stick to titles you can legitly buy, like the Zaishen title.

From what I can tell, the topic wasn't closed just because of spam - but because it had run its course. People got their answers. Also, your "guild leader" in that last thread was speaking in 1st person - that's quite odd for someone who was supposedly making the thread for someone else =P

This fame farming business sounds legal, but the players often portray themselves as innocent victims.

You can also buy "fame" from RMT sites. In fact, everything you can imagine. You can even offer YOUR services to them, e.g. be the fame farmer for them.

It appears we're at the whim of whatever GM is on duty at NCSoft that day. Pretty terrible overall, but not that surprising.

Seriously, ranks are worth nothing in this game: hero is retarded, glad and champ can be sync farmed, commander is /roll or red = /resign, zaishen is a pve rank...

And they're certainly not worth a ban if no real world currency is involved.

It amazes me how people can try to justify what amounts to cheating.

Because by paying you didn't EARN that right to the higher ranked teams. I certainly don't want someone who PAYED their way to rank on my teams. I hope they ban people who do this whether it is ingame money or real world money as this isn't the CORRECT way to gain fame and move up in the ranks. Ban em Anet I am behind you 100% and don't let them come back either ban their ISP as well.

And the majority of players that say ^ don't have any rank to speak of. Pure jealousy statement. I would say a large majority EARNED their rank and people like you are just jealous because you can't earn yours fast enough. Oh an of course I expect you to come back and say you got all kinds of r12 rank in this or that when you really don't have any or very low.

You guys that support banning for fame farming... Do you support banning other runs for in game gold? Running to places, running missions, and other running for titles (survivor, ZChest services, Selling unid for wisdom, ect..) Do you support banning ppl for buying in game items for in game gold? like Zkeys, Ectos, Crystalline Swords? I mean to take the logic that ppl use for banning fame farming you can extend it to any of the above acts as well.

What is the difference here? Think it through.

What you think is "fair" v. what should be banned are not always the same thing.

If im not mistaken, Anet is applying "tournament rules" for MaTs to that particular incident, not necessarily the main body of EULA. And "unsportmanship" i dont think is even a word and even if it was i dont think it has any relevance as it is too vague to be applicable.

So Anet should start banning EVERYONE who offer's run services now? For both a mission, or getting to a certain place.

Also, Afk vanquishing services should be bann-able now aswell?

They're is absolutely NO difference between a fame service and these services...

One guy is paying another guy to "help" him through a certain mission.

As I recall, Heroes Ascent is still a mission, a PvP one, yes, but still a regular mission, just like Ruins of Surmia or Any other mission you can think off.

If they is bann-able, then so should every other service be, because a service is nothing more than "paying to leech"...
