Other people's misery? Wish Swiftdeath, I've been asking for sync to be corrected, forever, what about my misery? I can't even play RA anymore (not that I play at all anymore), I am hoping RA sync is the next step for ArenaNet in cleaning up the "mess" that we find in the game.
@OP, there was a warning, you probably didn't see it, the thread was close, if i am not mistaken it was around last week.
Warning To All Farming Fame Services

Don't really see how this is bannable. Some people don't want to bother playing the game the way it's supposed to be played, so they look for fame sellers so they can pay for their r3.
If anything the people buying should be banned.
Sync in RA is hardly a problem. You face more random teams in 1 hour then you will face sync teams in 1 week. Sync in the festival games, that's another story. But it doesn't bother me because I like a challenge in dragon arena.

Syncing in RA isnt a problem because it hardly ever works.
A low ranked player wishing to pay higher ranked players to join them isnt a problem either - they are still playing the way the game was meant to be played and participating right?
There is nothing wrong with trading in game gold for running services, or go and ban every player that gets a droks run if there is.

Its a slippery slope.. If you cant buy a "run" for fame, why can you buy runs to locations and through missions and dungeons? and to take it farther rare items?
It really does not make sense that ANET will ban someone for providing fame for in game gold. If they do they need to make a meaningful distinction between this and buying a Crystalline Sword from someone and offering fame farming. The only argument I can see is that they will ban some activity that diminishes the game experience for someone. I do not know or see how fame farming diminishes the game play for someone not directly involved. And having some one "buy" their emote is the same as someone buying a Crystalline Sword or some other status symbol item.

Rules of Conduct

In your situation, I believe Anet ban you because of rule #24 of the rules of conduct. However, this should not be resulted in a permanent ban since you are not violating anything to an extreme extent. People working at Anet are only human, they forget things now and then, but I'm sure you can get this ban lifted because you are not violating anything major according to these rules. One more thing, I believe GM Leonie is new to the support staff so she might not have that much knowledge about the Rules of Conduct as the old members do. You should request another GM to help you with this issue.
It seems like the players have to abide to the rules before they play, but it seems to me like ANET is not abiding to any rules. Let me give you an example of the rule they break. Let's say you report a player in a district, 3 days later you get an email saying that the player you reported is banned. Well, according to the Disciplinary Process, to which ALL ANET STAFFS MUST follow.

Staff of the support team MUST respect individuals' privacy no matter what happens. you can bring this to court, thought not recommended. You are being punished for not violating any of the rules mentioned in the Rules of Conduct.
Okay, by saying that, you know immediately that GM Leonie does not know or have not read the Rules of Conduct carefully. My goodness, why would you say "specifically" when you can't even quote the document? Seriously...

| 24. While participating in Plaver-vs-Player (PvP) gameplay, you will not participate in any form of match manipulation. Match manipulation is defined as any action taken to fix or manipulate the outcome of a match or alter or manipulate the rankings or ratings of the ladder. This also includes disrupting other people's game experience by not actively participating in matches in good faith, a.k.a leeching. |

Specifically, your account was suspended for: - Offering illegal fame-farming service The details of this incident are on record and we can confirm that we will not remove the suspension from your account. |
Banning Fame Farming for Rule 24? I dont think so. This rule is for rigging a fight so one side wins. So it applies when one team or team member does not actually try their best to win. When someone tries to play but just fail, to avoid DP you can try to avoid combat and hide in order to WIN! I do not think this inactivity can be considered a violation of this rule.
I think we should wait and see if we can get more information. As of now, it appears to be an isolated incident, and there may or may not be information we have.
And - not to call the OP a liar - this is only one incident, and people have been to known to do anything from exaggerate or even fabricate because of some childish or ignorant perspective (i.e. all these "I got hacked" threads with people who refuse to acknowledge they gave their account info to someone). I'm just suggesting we wait and see if there are other similar cases before we all lay down the hammer of hate on aNet.
I agree that the circumstances seem unfair, but there could be extenuating circumstances. No point in getting our panties in knots until we know for sure if this is an application of the EULA.
:O Weird. But nope - didn't see it. Thanks for letting me know. When my laziness wears off, I'll look for it.

To OP, PLEASE READ THIS!
There was a thread like this exactly the same a few months ago, and the OP got banned for the same thing. Regina contacted him and sorted it out with him as she believed there was an error as well. So please try contact Anet again!
I agree with this and disagree.
Disagree: Well i didnt see it hurting anyone, its a way for "HA Noobs" to get into groups and get fame. Its obvious that you need a good rank to get into a "good game" with good players, thus making it possible for people to play HA without having to get into "HA Noob" groups and not having a great chance of getting fame or winning. Taking this away means that people wont be able to enjoy HA PVP because they wont have high enough of a rank to get into a game with people that know what they are doing.
Agree: Since its a game with no monthly costs, they can obviously do whatever they want. But...not much to agree with banning because people need r3+ to get into somewhat good games.

I said sync champpoint farming. One thing to set up a bunch of guys to bspike the ladder, another when you have two champrange guilds sync join and then one team /resigns or fails to load to the other. It's especially appaling how it's recorded on Obs for all to see during the double weekends..
Regarding rule #24, I submit that:
A) Champion and Fame farming disrupt other player's gaming expirience via false advertising of buyers skill.
B) Both the providers and users of these services are not actively participating in matches in good faith for they are aware they wouldn't be able to neither amass an in-game fortune (providers), nor get any ranks in the title they are buying (users).
Guild Wars was advertised as a game where skill is more important than time spent. PvP titles were introduced in good faith in order to show player's skill more clearly.
Can I sue ArenaNet for failing to keep their promises and allowing such unsportsman-like conduct to exist and thrive?
