Hi, me (Ranger) and a friend (Dervish) are using 2 man discord team (http://pvx.wikia.com/wiki/Build:Team...Man_Discordway) to vanquish morostov trail for kurzick faction. We both use assasins promise, you move like a dwarf, and ebon sin to call and quickly strike down enemies. The heroes use the exact builds in the link. We even use a essence of celerity. But we cant seem to beat 40 minutes per vanquish for that area even with our killing speed! Are we doing something wrong? We seem to take an okay path, but we're not sure of the best one

I think discord is rather slow... When you see people post these "fast" time, I think they use a 8 man party with specialized builds.
As in, have SF tanks and RoJ take on different parts of the map at the same time (Kinda like Underworld Speed clear).
Hence, with H/H, you will often take up to twice as long, because U can't split and do everything 3x as fast...

I've been doing Discord runs on the other side of the map in Qunkai, and found that going necro secondary on my Ranger with Mark of Pain and Barbs with 12 curses makes for some rather nice screen fulls of damage numbers and tends to drop things pretty quickly.
Also have Barrage, Ebon Vanguard Assassin, Summon Ruby Djinn, By Urals Hammer and a Pet.
Only just over a million Luxon to go.. Then I'll probably be looking for a Kurzick Guild LOL.

I'm assuming the Discord team you are referring to is the PvX one found here:

If this is the case, you should make several adjustments. For one thing, the hero setup is not meant to be "doubled" by another player. You can significantly increase the utility (and offensive power) by further specializing each hero. I'd suggest running the following:

Favorable winds will slow you down, heroes will cast em at beginning of encounter instead of barraging group.
Since you have 4 physicals (derv not meeleing is waste!) you will also gain some mileage from orders.
you can move enfeebling blood from necro 2 to ss (ancestor's rage is armor affected, waste in hm.) and try how OoP fares instead of discording.

Instead of FW, you can take Throw Dirt. I never tried Ancestor's Rage, I would have picked Whirling Defense. But I am usually running high Expertise and play the Curse Necro myself. This has the advantage that the Rangers actually shoot on Mark of Pain when its placed. 
I personally do not like Discord builds, people already mentioned it, they work reliably almost everywhere, but this does not mean that they are optimal in any area.
As you might have guessed, I am all about a Curse Necro, a MM and Rangers.

Discordway works well for morostav vanquishing as there's very few enemies there with hex/condition removal. Discordway isn't an end-all answer to everything, it just works rediculously well in most areas because of bad monster bars.

A friend and I, both mesmers, average 24 minutes using an essence and practically pvxwiki's hero builds. On my solo runs with just me and 6 discord heroes and an essence, it is about 27 minutes per run. Haven't tried it without essence yet because I have a lot of money to burn, and I don't believe my route is 100% optimal yet.
Its only slightly slower faction gain than DTSC, but it avoids the troubles that come with pugging. I'm fine with that.

The thing I find (or assume is) appealing about the 3 team split SC farms is that groups consist of 2 or 3 players, thus the drops are much better...

I guess it's not really that expensive, and I should - but I've horded 25 essences and like a miser, hate to use them on anything other than last-ditch efforts (e.g. EotN dungeons when I keep dieing - still have 5 to complete for max EotN title - sans slavers HM[won't need])...
