Shouldn't this be in gladiators?
Hang on, don't we already have a thread in gladiators? |
I still waiting for the very first "OMG, I got banned" thread and also a thread dealing with what the OP considers to be stupid updates. Threads like that would be awesome.

bot watch is good.
2nd. I don't even care about the backlash though. If you have a leecher in your group and don't report what is your excuse? There is no excuse. You're too lazy and are enabling them. I like getting 1/3 of vote for no dishonorable points, but entire teams should be reporting.

Because they aren't all RoJ bots.
There are the bots that are programmed to go to a random base defender and "Hide" there are whammo bots that follow players and randomly cspace. There are RoJ bots that go to a set quarry to launch RoJ. There are Healing circle bots that go to a set quarry and spam healing circle spells.
All to varying degrees of "Usefulness". I would contend however that a non-bot of any type is better than any bot.
Actual players even if they suck, at least go back to the fray after being killed. Most bots do not.

Wonder about the reason to have skills like ROJ, Aura of the Lich, Weaken Knees etc. in their current form for months?

O
I'd rather be on a team with a bot that does something useful than on a team with one that just hits enter and sits at the spawn (or hides in the base).
The worst was the other night when I got a team with 4 characters synched in from the same guild, all with no secondary profession, all with the same delay in connecting (probably one person running all four on the same connection) and all just sitting right on the initial spawn without moving. There's no point to /report them because they outnumber you, and it makes more sense to use your dishonorable allotment to leave that train wreck (and you can try to avoid getting into a match with them again).

If I /report, I expend a small cost (effort) and risk a much larger cost (dishonor). My individual /report makes no difference to whether or not ANet bans the bot. Therefore, I should let other players expend the costs and take the risks.
This type of problem is known as a collective action problem in economics. Organizing large groups of people to accomplish a task is doomed from the start, unless you can restrict the benefits to only those that do the work.
I've said it before: the /report system is fatally flawed because of this. It's good for witch hunts (see threads on how names get banned) and that's about it.
Basically: When you see a lonely dot on the radar moving towards the nearest quarry you know you better hurry or it all goes up in flames.
Man everyone is abusing RoJ these days. Not just monks but assassins, eles mezmers and even wammos. Something must be done.
