Unable to connect to any town?

Hai.
I can connect to the char selection screen fine [although it takes quite a while for the box saying 'connecting to arena net' to load/connect] Then once I try to connect to a town/RA it just goes to the loading screen and sticks to 0%, I have actually been having some lag problems today, which is unusual for me.

Anyone else having any problems connecting?

Lag earlier, DCed mid-quest about 3/4 hour ago, been unable to get past character select screen since due to Err5. Europe, UK. Glad it's not just me.

same on both accounts including a computer reset... was really looking foward to some byob tonight too.... any ideas? mines logging into euro servers btw, although my guild is currently playing on euro servers grrrr

Hmm. Prolly get some flame for this..but possibly something to do with the update tomorrow?

I read somewhere that Anet was going to announce the update before going live, so it probably won't happen for a couple weeks. Some people were thinking the update would coincide with 4th birthday.......

Don't happen to be with BT in the UK?

me, and a few friends who are on this ISP lost access a few hours back.

lost us a GvG too >.<

Same happened to me during UW, got a few lag spikes at first, then DC soon after.

I'm on BT aswell -.-

Hmm. Not really getting this :S. If it was the ISP then wouldn't it not be connecting to the server at all? However it's making it to the char selection screen..so it can't be the ISP blocking any ports/IPs right?

Maybe i'm talking aload of garbage :P

I cannot enter the European districts or my Guild Hall.
I suspect the problem is only with the European districts, but I don't know if it's only affecting people with BT.

Im no expert on how the GW Servers work. but I believe there is an Authentication Server that deals with keeping the client updated, and authorizing login. And the actual game servers that host the content.

connection to the authentication server seems fine. but the content servers are unreachable! :-(

You should be able to connect to non-European districts. Unfortunatly, if you've left your characters in your Guild Hall or on European districts, you can't access them.

Im also having this problem ¬.¬ and currently having a word with gw support =]

Also on BT, been getting super bad lag in RA today, been moments when I cannot log onto gws at all for 20 minutes or so, most of my chars are in american dists.

All as mentioned above code 005 etc >_>

Yeah, send in a ticket. I've had this happen once or twice, but it was just with 1 char who couldn't load in. They fixed it very fast. Hopefully that's all it will take.

Yeah, me to, I've sent in a ticket to support, although it looks like it's something to do with BT, which is rather strange :S.
