Guild Wars Shown On BBC Current Affairs program

Guild wars was shown in a 15 minute aritcle on the BBC's newsnight program about online gaming and virtual life. Screenshots were shown as part of an interview with a gold selling company. Quite interesting

I also saw that, was a v interesting news article and included info about wage slaves in Romania, playing games all day and getting £100 per month in wages. Other games were mentioned, WoW, Cities of Heros/Villians some type of new virtual game which i forgot the name of.

Fortune Magazine also had several articles recently about online gaming economies and people who make money through them. I don't think they mentioned GW specifically, it was mostly EQ and WOW, but there was a picture of some lawyers with a bunch of NCSoft games sitting on the table in front of them. One them was GW.

I also saw GW on G4's CinemaTech last night. It was only pics of pre-sear and some PvP, though.

yeah GW has appeared on Cinematech and Judgement Day on G4. I can't remember the other game it was up against in Judgement Day but GW was their pick for best of the two. Have yet to see GW on CHEATS... probably because there aren't any lol. They did feature WoW and showed how to get all the rare items and things your class can't normally get. Lots of grinding though...

Just an FYI, I can't find an "article" anywhere on the site or in search. And the video (with sound) is only available in the UK. Anyone outside will need a subscription to hear it.

Yeah I saw that program on the news on BBC's NewsNight.

Like 8 or something kids power-levelling chars and some others playing WoW..

They got the same cape as us :O
They charge $1000 for their service, il do it for $500 and throw in a complimentary candy cane hammer.
I noticed they were "power lvling" with hench, probably why they charge so much, it would drive me insane power lvling to 20 using hench, i think someone needs to tell them about 55hp monks.
