can't load map ?

apparently , i was on the game earlier today. i decided to leave to watch a movie and when i came back, it won't let me load the map. i can connect but when i choose a character, the map just won't load. any idea whats wrong ?

Im getting the same problem, can log on, wont load any of my character, I get error 040 or something, "Guild wars is unable to complete action. Try again in a few minutes"

i am getting the same but it is switching between error 004, error 007 and error 040.
i did managed to log in once but then i couldnt map anywhere as it just gave me the same error
When i was logged on that one time i opened my friends list and then my guild tab. The friends list was normal but my guild tab was completely empty as in nothing was actually shown. It was simply a big gray box :s

Yeah, im now getting the same thing, i could see my guild roster and stuff and friends list, but i could say anything... and now im jumping between err 007 and 040...

I got loaded in but it was like i never logged on, just in a basic map... with no one in it.

mine isn't working again -.- i tried to zone to some other map but it wont work. tried to change dists and it wont work as well.

Where there any un-annoucend updates for servers?
Or did someone crash the servers again?

im getting error 007 and 040, apparently both due to server connection and if im lucky i get error 004.... someone want to flag ANet about this so they can fix it?

i still getting this lag (more then week now) i can't play at all ..if i manage to load town i laggin in it badly
when i'm out in explorable area the ping get green but then i get 25k+ spikes every few minutes ...
please Fix it anet

Wow, I have this problem too. (this crap it started during the Canthan festival for me) Any advice would be appreciated. >_>

i getting the same problem, i went out to take a break for 45 min, i start to play again and in 5 minutes i disconnect, it happens to me alot, but i disconnect fast. i can log in and everything, but it wont load the map and connect, i tried it about 20 times, 5 times i could log in, move, but i change character and it wont load and error Code=007, thats all Code=007 ..... never happened to me before, i had the game for 3-4 years

If you haven't had an Err=007 in 4 years, you've been damn lucky - it's the most often reported Guild Wars problem extant.

When it's a report from just one person (the others were 3 months ago) you have to assume a local problem. There may be a routing problem from your ISP to ANet, for example.

I think i have the solution.... It worked for me, i guess you could try it if you want it to work. It might not work, im not fully sure but worked for me. try uninstalling the game then install it into your computer again, might fix some problems, if it works the game should be running fine, with no errors are map loading problems
