Gear Set Bonus?

The friend that got me playing was told by someone that there are gear set bonus's, so it's a bad idea to mix gear pieces from different sets. I can't seem to find any information to confirm this, I've checked several Wiki's and asked in-game and such a thing doesn't appear to exist.

Is it safe to mix pieces from different sets of gear or is there such a thing as a bonus for wearing a full set of one type?

there's no bonus.
just make sure you have 5 pieces of armor equiped xD

[edit] As a side question, is there anyway to preview gear on your character? I think I know what I want to mix but it's a hard call without actually buying it, if it wasn't Elite armor I'd just buy a low level set and try it with that but that's not an option in this case. [/edit]

Can't add a mixed armor set to your HoM. Nothing else comes to mind other than that.

You can request a pic in the Screenshot forum Request subforum and if you don't get carried away by specifying colors, someone will post what you want.

Many people have multiple armor sets and like to mix n' match.

There was once a time when all armor sets had different bonuses in them, now they don't, the bonuses were changed to insignias that you can buy at the rune trader.

Yeah, before all Tatoo armor provided energy, etc... That's long gone though.

That explains it, it's been a year to a year and half since the guy who told her that played. Thanks!
