Celestial mini-ox a frequent drop this year?

Based on my hopelessly unscientific survey of Shing Jea Monastery (mainly AD42) during this past weekend, it seems to me that the Celestial mini-ox is a rather more common drop than I would have anticipated beforehand. I know at least two people in my own guild who got two oxen from lunar fortunes, and I got one of my own on about my 60th or 70th popped fortune (spent the rest of my tokens on gift bags). There were often five or six mini-oxen wandering around within my immediate field of view in SJM yesterday. All that makes me wonder how valuable this year's mini is going to end up actually being. Comments?

3 out of 590 fortunes. Common.

Luck. It took me about five hundred fortunes to pop an ox (I wasn't keeping track, but it required the full supply of lunar tokens from completing all the festival quests on ten characters...)

That said, the price does seem to be lower than for rats last year - the average seemed to be 20-25k, and some people were out trying to buy for as low as 10k.

More common than the mini pig...and I dont mean the celestial one

216 i got 3 of them, i still had another 250 and sold it. I got more and in 37 i got 1 more, so in a total of basicly 250, i got 4 of them. Very Common, but i'm also very lucky.


I wouldn't say more common then the normal mini pig.

not sure what the frequency is but I opened mine in batches.

did the bags for some time...had misc left over lunar tokens on characters who them got fortunes...gave me a total of 6 more

they arent as cute as the mousey (ok, I am a bit prejudiced about the mousey )....or the pig which may be the reason for the lack of higher prices.

177 Fortunes, 1 ox for me. 480 fortunes, 1 ox for a guildie. But 177 fortunes is what, 5 stacks of tokens for an ox? 480 fortunes took 10 characters, I think. For some people, the ox is common; for the people without 6 or 8 characters it might be a little less common.

I opened over 400 and I didnt get 1 XD

guildie got 3 after about 500 opens. Like...his last three fortunes were oxen.

I got one then used the rest of my tokens on red bags, so I'd say one after about 300 opens.

Opened ~350 fortunes, got 6.

opened 20 and got 1 ox :P

So over all, 78 opened, 2 oxes. Better luck then I had with the MPB. >.>

Around 90 fortunes didn't get me an Ox. I ended up trading an extra Rat I had around for one.

618 fortunes and no ox. Based on my results....the celestial ox does not exist.

Had to do the quests on all my chars (7 chars) and trading all the tokens i got from that for fortunes to get one on my last set of fortunes.. :\


Guildie of mine got one out of his first 25 fortunes.. -.-

Compared to last year, the droprate has gone down. Last year i ended up with 5 rats or so out of the same amount of fortunes.

I was way over 250 when I get my one and only ox.

I opened ~75 fortunes and got one ox at roughly the 60th. All my other tokens went to bags.

So if there are so many maybe next year Anet in their wisdom will trade 5 Celestial Ox for a normal skin ox

I opened a lil over 500...no ox.

Same as Hailfall - last year, I had good luck with the mini, but not this year.
