Who makes up the Majority of GW players? PvP or PvE?

I am not trying to say one is more important than the other, but I I just wonder who is the larger populace as far as primarily pvp or pve players? IMHO it seems that the PvP players statistically seem to have a better understanding of where to go and who to talk to as far as influencing the changes made in the game, whereas there seems to be more pve'ers but they dont even know about things like this.

There are a lot of people that love this game and like what it provides, so they are not looking for places to complain about things, but when you come here, you seem to find a lot of people who are discontent with the content...lol

I just wonder if the percieved majority here really constitutes the majority of GW players.

I would like to hear your thoughts on this.

No clue in actuality since I don't PVP, but unless GW is the biggest anomaly in gaming ever, it would be PVE by a wide margin. Multiplayer aspects of games always seem to get the most vocal crowd, but based on statements from game developers who do bother to reveal what's behind the curtain, represent a small fraction of their total sales.

OTOH, the currently playing population may be skewed by different retention rates - many PVE players might be the sort who play through and "beat" the game and then move on instead of collecting titles, minis, and other silly but fun distractions.

All I know is that I am glad they split the skills between PVP and PVE.

I play PvE more than PvP because it's not so serious and provides more room for freedom in teams.

Pve has probaly 20 times more people then pvp....pvp is absolutely dead....u know that when u can get top 100 hb in a week and can be top 1k in gvg if u LOSE and there is not many people in heroes ascent and the ones there run noob s***

allot of PVPers may seem more intelligent about the game, but that is mainly bacuase they have played through the PVE aspects already and are now doing PVP instead of grinding for titles etc.... in PVE.

PvE = Fun, PvP = I'm sure many militant little crybabies who think everyone on the planet but them are 'NOOBS' take the fun out of it so not really interested

Got r6 two years ago, got bored of ha metas. PvE is good until GW2 so I can get GWAMM.

I play PvE more than PvP because it's more laidback and PvP can be VERY frustrating :P
Plus in PvE you can get cool equipment

Both here. Although I only PvE to help people and the only pvp I do is JQ.
PvE just got boring with the same ol thing every zone, nothing changing. Not much of a challenge either, even in "HM".
PvP however, pissing people off is wayyy fun >]

I used to do lots of PVE, now I do some PVP (been playing 3 yrs) because it's more fun for me. Also, yeah, there are a lot of people who are very knowing of the game in PVP (but sometimes eletists....).

I was going to make a long post about how the majority doesnt care about PvP beyond RA...but then I saw the poll results.

And I lol'd.

I mainly PvE but I play my fair share of JQ/FA/AB and RA.

My GW History:
1.99% PvE - 01% PvP
2.50% PvE - 50% PvP
3.00% PvE - 00% PvP
4.10% PvE - 90% PvP

I went through all the campaigns, elite areas and some HM(got bored re-e-ealy quickly) and because I'm not a title RED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GO there's nothing for me to do there. I'm going through it again though in order to remake my old Necro, but I'm going to do it really quickly.

Did everything I needed to do in PvE. Then went to PvP and never looked back.

I play PvE more than PvP, and I find more people busy with PvE chars than PvP chars. If I do PvP, I shall be doing mainly RA.

Even games that are geared toward PvP play like Warhammer Online have a huge PvE contingent. I play both, but I probably play PvE more (since I don't like the whole forming a group for 1 hour for 30 minutes worth of game time thing).

Even the most die hard PvP fan in this game has to admit that there are more PvEers in terms of pure numbers.

You have to actually ask this question?

And I'll add that Guru is biased in the direction of pvp compared to the playing populace... albeit they are still grossly outnumbered.

Wow, I'm quite astonished, I can believe that most of the community plays PvE more than PvP. I was so sure that it was the opposite way around that I didn't even give that a thought!

All of you got me highly curious. Why is that you're playing in that manner? Doesn't it get boring after the first time? What's keeping you there?

I play mainly PVE mostly, due to the people in my guild being a bunch of pussies. They are afraid to PVP.
