When hastily reading log-in screen, seeing words Guild Wars 2 only to get informed by gw2 beta scams.

Mine just did.

Yeah, I did a /doubletake when I glanced at it, because I thought it said Guild Wars 2 Beta scans.

Our phantom CM posted about this on the boards not too long ago.

Anyways, I think it's pretty sad when the only GW2 news we get in forever is really a warning against scams.

Mine basically auto logs in so i miss those messages half the time but i did get a glimpse. I acutlaly thought it said gw2 BETTER scams....and didn't think anything of it

It would be the first time any information was disclosed in the game, prior to it being discussed to death @ Guru or the wiki.

I actually had to look twice at that message..since I only read GW2 beta. But I figured it wasnt real <<

The funny thing is, we don't even know for certain that GW2 won't suk.

I noticed it, but didn't really care because I expect the first thing we will hear about GW2 soon will be, "Production is well underway!".

Actually, the problem is more likely reading too fast - speedreaders tend to do so by reading whole lines at a glance, often by picking up key words and joining the dots, rather than right-to-left (and studies have shown that this is actually a natural way of reading - most people do so at the word level, but this is why misspellings and typoes can be missed so easily). So it's possible for someone to glance and register "GW2 beta" before reading it fully and registering "scams".

The GW2 scam warning comes too late; people already bought EoTN.
