I am not sure how many players out there pay attention to the skill usage charts that are published after each MAT, but I find them to be very useful but even moreso, I would love to see them for each match that you would gvg in for your team. To be able to critique/analyze why a build did/didnt work would be great. I am sure it falls into the "not enough resources" standard message we get, but still

Obs mode would be fine, if you only played 1 match at a time, then spent the time to obs, but really what would be nice is to be able to dump out that information after the match, then deal with it afterward. Typically when gvg'ing most people play multiple matches in succession so you lose all but your last match to obs. I was just thinking of how helpful it would be to see how often your prot monk was casting Guardian, or how often you warrior frenzied, it wont show the quality of those actions, but it would at least give you an idea what your player may spend their time doing.
I think the idea is quite nice, however i'm not sure if it's really necessary. Lets say you've made a new build and you've played maybe 5 or 6 matches that night with it.
Generally after that amount of time each player will have a fair idea of how the e-management is on the bar, which skills they are using the most, which are not being used very often and which are very prone to enemy interruption etc
So a quick chat with each player after your nights GvG can quickly yield the same results you would get from the skill chart.
I think the reason they provide them for the monthly's is because it would take a long time for any one person to sit through and count how many times each person used/tried to use each skill. It's much easier to get an indication of if you're playing the build yourself.

If you are suggestiong that monitoring something this late in the run, is a proper representation of what players want, I feel like your judgement is misguided. The number of players that actually gvg, and then the number of players that go to to site, is unfortunately miniscule in comparison to the number that has played in the past. If this was something implemented early in the game's life, it would have a larger frequency of viewership, as well, viewing another team's useage chart can be helpful, but viewing your own/your teams would be invaluable to learning/growing as a gvg player/team.
Hopefully the short write off isnt something that would be written off so quickly for future versions of gw =[

We monitor the traffic to the skill usage chart, and the feature simply isn't popular enough to warrant the amount of time required to compile, sort, and publish the data.

Can you at least pass along that some people would greatly desire something comparable to make its way into GW2 as an in-game feature?

This decision wasn't just made on the spur of the moment. It has taken months to come to this decision. It was a difficult choice to make, and one that the web team and the developers had to think hard about. The developers and programmers involved in creating the skill charts have become progressively busy as GW2 production continues to progress and as months pass. Additionally, the traffic numbers for this feature have decreased. We are at the point where the time investment (days) and the work of multiple people had to be weighed against the traffic statistics. As you know, we have some developers who take time away from GW2 production to support GW1. We are working on transitioning as much of this work as possible to the GW1 Live Team, however some of that work had to be cut in order to keep their workload manageable. There is only so much that one designer and one programmer can do. In light of these facts and demands on time and human resources, the Skill Usage Charts had to go.

I would like to ask that ANet at least look into have an automated stat accumulator for each game in GW2. At the end of any match, the player has the option to either save the stats for that game or to discard them. This way there is no further work for you guys. For mATs and what not, it might be worthwhile to do them serverside as per now, but skill usage charts can be a very handy diagnostic tool for the pvp side of the game.
I realize that the opportunity for this to be done in GW1 is slim to none, but I would strongly urge ANet to consider something like this for GW2 competitive pvp, as it gives people playing your game tools to improve and hopefully keep playing.
