I need serious help....

Hello. I made a paragon about a month ago, and I got him to the Venta Cementary mission. Then I stopped playing him for a while. Now I need a good build and need to decide a new secondary proffession. Any ideas?

Tip: you can get Save Yourselves! from the faction rewards guy in your guild hall, provided you have Factions and have at least r1 kurz/lux.

Ur in NM... anything will work. For HM id agree with that, but for NM id choose something alot more... fun

I'm with Lumi on this one, in HM I'd agree with Rhamia to just run an imbagon, but for NM a simple spear build using something like [[Cruel Spear] or [[Stunning Strike] will do just fine and dandy. You can get Cruel Spear basically the second you hit mainland so that's probably what I'd look at.

Also, you can't get Focused Anger until you're in Vabbi since it's in the explorable Bahdok Caverns. Barring Elite Para tomes of course. If you do plan on doing HM stuff with him, practice what Rhamia said in NM until you're good at it, then take it to HM.

I've been skill capping on my para, which means a lot of time not being /W. I've been running either [[Cruel spear] or [[Stunning strike], and while they're not as powerful as an imbagon (the save yourselves spammer), In normal mode they're actually good and, as is unusual for my para, fun!
[Spear of Fury][Cruel spear][Anthem of weariness][aggressive refrain]Makes for a fun build. bring another source of DW if you run Stunning strike

For build suggestions, just look around here-use search. There are several builds that have been posted that are viable for both modes that don't involved spamming SY!.

Inferior in the sense that you don't get 80% damage reduction yes-but lets face it-other classes can spam SY, and lets not forget that SY ISN'T needed. Sometimes I take 2 para's and chain "Stand Your Ground!", which gives even better armor then WY. I agree that the aforementioned build is stronger, but some people don' t have access to PVE skills, besides the dps from this build is pwnsauce. I just don' t use pve skills unless I' m really desperate. The build a few posts back is a drag to play (upkeeping AR is annoooooying)

It's true you can do HM without Imbagon, but Imbagon is just so easy to play and can be used in almost every situation for a para. Pretty sure that is what most ppl in gw look for - fast and easy. It's essentially ursan.

It's a shame there aren't really other builds that can go toe to toe with Imba. It's gets really darn boring playing this over and over.

Why run cruel spear when godmode means you can take a heavy damage dealer such as a critscythe running WS? Paras are the best at spamming SY as they are constantly in range to hit something, getting often 100% uptime with just 4 second SY. Besides, when melee mobs can hit for 300-400 in one hit, particularly in places like urgoz, when you can have aggro of up to 20 mobs at once, it's kinda foolish to run without one, unless you are running cryway, which is just tank'n'spank anyway.

[focused anger] isn't necessary at higher ranks for 100% SY! uptime, and other Elites (*cough*[stunning strike]*cough*) are a lot more interesting.

For maximum efficiency, imbagons are sweet. Just because it's the best build doesn't mean that it's all you should run. Everything that's done can be done without any SY, albeit harder. But PvE is so broken that it's still not bad. With the right players, anything is easy, almost regardless of what you're running.
