There have been many discussions about wich weapon is the most rare, let us try to find out what rare mean.

i.m.o

1. It must NOT share skin with other weapon.
(goodbye Crystalline, Silverwing, Swamp Club a.o.)

2. It must not have a craftable version
(Goodbye Dwarven axe a.o.)

3. There must not be a free "blue" version
(Goddbye Clockwork)

4. It shall have random drop
(Goodbye all end-reward in dungeons and elite missions)

What have we left?

Imo rare has nothing to do with skin or req. Two words: unconditional damage

Doesn't drop anymore, very few in the game and even fewer on active accounts

Only the very rarest mini's approach the same astronomical prices as these

I think Yang nailed it. With the number of people playing the game for the number of years played virtually everything now has a decent number of them floating around. But, the truley rare items w/unconditional damage are the brass ring!

speaking of which i havent seen an auction in ages with one of those items.

Max inscribable Elonian Fiery Gladius. Been looking for one almost since NF came out. I have yet to see one. (Nor will I consider buying one.) I also consider rare those greens that never make it to sail because no one can farm them (farm builds dont work where the green is) or if they do get it they merch it because they expect no one to want it. One example is Wioli's Artefact which I spent weeks attempting to get and never did.

The rarest items in game are the ones that would fit with your character theme and interests. These are guaranteed never to drop for you.

Mini and items are not weapon and some mini`s are/where only available in korean magazins.

Random drop an droprate must be the keywords

For me it's something that doesn't have a set drop location and it doesn't drop often, like eternal shields and swords

Everyone knows who's weapon this is.. It has all the charactaristicts of a rare weapon. Req8. Rare Skin. Boom.

That is money... Plain and simple nothing is as rare, or will be as rare.

Rarity depends on mainly two things imo:

1) efficiency of the item (for example those unconditional weapons)
2) The drop rate or the percentage of those items in game vs the population playing the game.

If you look at MTG, rare and expensive cards have the same charecteristics as the two mentionned above. For example Black Lotus and Moxes.

However a third factor can come into play, namely the removal of an efficient item from further dropping in the game because of balance purposes. The remaining existing items of that category will skyrocket in value ofcourse.

The fourth factor is the collector's value. Which is the case for mini's. The mini polar bear is actually nothing special if you look at the pixels. It's not gamebreaking either, it's just a plain polar bear. However there are few of those plain mini polar bears ingame atm, that's why the price is so high, collectors want one.

The rarity of the skin itself should be considered too, next too the popularity of the skin. In MTG, a Black Lotus was a rare card on itself when you could buy booster packs. In GW we have something like that too.

An example of an item that would be extremely rare and would be worth a lot is: a max req 7 Crystaline Sword, + 15% unconditional dmg. Or a Req 7 rare skin shield with +30hp and received dmg -5 (20% chance).

Req8 old school serpent axe?? you can simply set your price and the buyers will come. they may not have the gold but they WILL come. as for people that dont know the value of the truley rare epic retro items...... well thats sad. i used to troll the forumns just to see the screens of those items. i knew id never have the scratch to land one.

The difference between +14 and +15 isn't that much. I'd try to switch out the prefix if I could as long as it doesn't mess up the unconditional damage.

Really? If I wanted to get rid of it, I'd Auction it for a couple dozen million.
